Highly Commended Winners at The Great British Care Awards 2025

The Great British Care Awards on Saturday 15 November 2025 celebrated the UK’s most dedicated care professionals. The evening became even more special as two of our colleagues received Highly Commended awards.

Tinashe Jwonge – Frontline Leader, Burford House Care Home

Tinashe, Burford House Deputy Manager, received a Highly Commended award in the Frontline Leaders category, which recognises supervisors, team leaders, and first-time managers who drive improvements in care delivery. He motivates his team, inspires colleagues, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

It was an absolute pleasure hearing Tinashe share his stories and best practices. With his passion, vibrant energy, and friendly personality, it’s clear that the team at Westgate Healthcare are extremely fortunate to have such a competent and inspiring leader at the helm. This recognition celebrates his commitment and his ability to make a positive impact on residents and staff.

Wojciech Urbanczak – Care Home Chef, St Pauls Care Centre

Wojciech was Highly Commended in the Care Home Cook/Chef category, which highlights the important role of nutrition in care homes. The award recognises staff who provide nutritious, enjoyable meals, engage residents in dining experiences, and maintain high standards in food hygiene. Wojciech’s creativity and his attention to individual dietary needs earned him well deserved praise.

Wojciech, with over 16 years at St Paul’s Care Centre, leads the kitchen with passion, expertise, and heart. He creates inclusive, nutritious, and visually appealing meals, adapts to residents’ needs, trains his team, and transforms dining into joyful, dignified experiences. His approach turns every meal into a warm and uplifting moment for those he supports.
