The residents at Sharston House Nursing Home in Knutsford, which is part of the Kingsley Healthcare have been well and truly spoilt this Christmas thanks to the local community.
The festive season got underway early in December when Major of Knutsford, Cllr Bryan Hartley visited the home to officially switched on the Christmas Tree Lights which was a wonderful event with music from Mark Whitby from the Music Memory Café and truly got the spirit of Christmas started, with Christmas songs musical and mince pies!
The residents also enjoyed an afternoon with their regular visitors ‘Minnie Vinnies’ from St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School in Knutsford who filled the home with giggles, chatted and beautiful Christmas songs. The joined residents were delighted to each be given a handmade bangle which the children had taken time to make, much to the delight of residents.
Knutsford Academy kept the festive spirit alive thanks to two visits to the home. Resident enjoyed listening to their magnificent singing of some fabulous Christmas songs thanks to music, played on the organ, by one of the pupils. During the visits the pupils chatted with residents and gave each resident a handmade Christmas cards and gifts, they certainly brought lots of Christmas cheer.
During the run up to Christmas the home also enjoyed a Christmas Carol Service from St Cross Church and a visit from Knutsford Scouts. On Christmas Eve residents enjoyed a visit from Canute Male Choir who sang their hearts out with wonderful Christmas music and songs that the residents enjoyed a good old sing-a-long and certainly got everyone ready for Christmas Day. Local resident Samantha Johnson who is Ms British Isles also joined the celebration popping in with gifts and cards for residents to spread her very own Christmas cheers!
The home also enjoyed a special visit from the Knutsford Santa Parade and it was wonderful to see Santa and Mrs Claus, the Mayor of Knutsford, cheerful elves, beautiful ponies and friendly dogs who descended on the home much to the delight of residents, relatives and the staff in the home, there was lots of laughter and joking and the home was delighted to make a donation to Hope Central Foodbank, supporting those who need it the most this festive season.
After all the wonderful visits before Christmas it was wonderful for residents to relax, surrounded by family and friends on Christmas Day, open presents from Santa and then tucked into a magnificent Christmas Dinner prepared by the wonderful chefs.

Knutsford residents have a magical Christmas thanks to local community!
