At Oaktree Court, Christmas is not just a date on the calendar – it’s a feeling. It’s found in shared smiles over a cup of tea, familiar songs drifting through the rooms, and moments of quiet reflection alongside laughter and joy. This festive season, our home was filled with warmth, connection and the comforting sense of belonging that makes Christmas truly special.

A Festive Afternoon Tea Full of Conversation and Comfort One of the simplest yet most cherished moments came during our Christmas Afternoon Tea. Residents gathered together to enjoy unlimited hot cups of tea, delicious cakes and plenty of festive conversation. The tables became a place for catching up with friends, sharing memories and enjoying the comfort of being together. It was relaxed, joyful and full of the gentle happiness that comes from familiar faces and unhurried time.

Music, Family and Shared Tables Music plays a powerful role at Oaktree Court, and one particularly special day brought it together with family and food. During our Live Singer & Family Buffet Day, we welcomed a fantastic singer into the home, filling the rooms with familiar tunes, laughter and a wonderfully warm atmosphere.

Before the music began — and even while it played — residents and families came together to enjoy a delicious buffet. Seeing loved ones sharing food, chatting and making memories side by side was incredibly special. With happy conversations, full plates and hearts lifted by music, the day became a beautiful celebration of togetherness and community.

Festive Flower Arranging and Creative Joy Creativity also played a special role in our Christmas celebrations. During a Festive Flower Arranging session, residents embraced the season using beautiful seasonal flowers, greenery and a touch of sparkle.

Each person created their own unique arrangement, adding colour and festive cheer to bedrooms and communal spaces throughout the home. The session was calm, joyful and full of pride, as residents admired one another’s creations and enjoyed the simple pleasure of making something beautiful together.

Christmas Eve Warmth and Reflection On Christmas Eve, the atmosphere grew even cosier. The afternoon was spent enjoying rich hot chocolate topped with marshmallows, with laughter and warm conversations filling the room. There was a sense of calm and togetherness as residents and staff slowed down to enjoy the moment. Later, everyone gathered for Christmas Eve Worship, a deeply meaningful part of the festive season at Oaktree Court. Through carols, prayers and shared reflections, residents and staff celebrated themes of hope, peace and joy — a gentle reminder that Christmas is as much about reflection as it is about celebration.

A Magical Elf Day Christmas Concert One of the most heart-warming days of the season was Elf Day, when Oaktree Court hosted its Christmas concert. The room was filled with festive music, laughter and truly touching moments — residents holding hands, sharing smiles and celebrating the happiness that Christmas brings.

It was a powerful reminder that Christmas isn’t just about songs or decorations, but about connection, love and feeling part of something special. The joy in the room was contagious, and every smile told its own beautiful story.

Counting Down to Christmas Through Song As Christmas drew closer, residents enjoyed a Christmas Countdown Concert, with Mini Concerts bringing festive favourites and beautiful melodies into the home. The music created a wonderful sense of anticipation and excitement, filling the days leading up to Christmas with warmth, rhythm and cheer.

A Very Special Visit from Santa The festive magic continued with a very special visitor. Santa Claus took time to visit residents personally, spreading cheer as he handed out presents and shared laughter. His visit brought smiles to every corner of the home and created moments of pure joy that will be fondly remembered.

Carol Services That Brought Generations Together One of the most touching highlights of the season came during our Very Special Carol Services, when children from local schools visited Oaktree Court to spread Christmas spirit through song.

From brand-new tunes that quickly became favourites, to the classic carols everyone knows and loves, the music filled the home with warmth and nostalgia. Seeing generations come together through song created moments of connection that were deeply moving, reminding us just how powerful shared experiences can be.
