Daisy Inspires Premium Care Group with Ground breaking Children’s Programme
At just 11 years old, Daisy Bell is already making a remarkable impact across the care sector, and her journey began within the Premium Care Group. From one of our own care homes, The Anchorage in Pulborough, Daisy’s simple yet powerful idea has grown into a group-wide initiative that is transforming the way care is experienced across all our homes.
What started as a small project rooted in connection and kindness has become Through the Eyes of a Child, an innovative programme now embedded across the Premium Care Group. Daisy’s passion, empathy, and creativity have inspired residents, families, and teams alike, bringing fresh perspective, warmth, and meaningful change into everyday life in our homes.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution, Daisy was recently awarded the Saxon Weald Youth Award, celebrating her dedication and positive influence within the community. This follows her Recognition in Care Award from PCS in February 2025, making her one of the youngest ever recipients and highlighting the extraordinary difference she continues to make.
All 10 homes within the Premium Care Group now have Through the Eyes of a Child Programme Stars , young people who have met Daisy and work alongside her on projects and ideas that are creating real and lasting change for residents and for themselves.
Throughout this year, Daisy has visited Premium Care Group homes, spending time with our care teams, the children on the programme, and residents. She thoroughly enjoyed these special days exploring each home, sharing ideas, and getting to know everyone. These visits have brought the programme to life in every setting and strengthened the bonds between generations.
The programme encourages residents, families, and staff to see daily life in care through a child’s viewpoint, fostering connection, joy, and meaningful improvement. By introducing honest feedback and shared experiences between children and residents, Daisy is helping to bridge generations and enrich the lives of everyone involved.
Daisy said:
“The Through the Eyes of a Child programme is for children to give us an honest and unfiltered true reflection of a child’s view of our care homes. I make surveys for the children and residents to do together, and we then give them to the managers to help them see what we do. It’s really exciting and I know that this programme is going to make a real difference. The children from our other homes are so lovely, I have really enjoyed meeting them all and hearing their ideas. It’s going to be great this year, I’m really proud.”
Daisy Bell is proof that inspiration knows no age. Her achievements are not only reshaping experiences within Premium Care Group homes, but also setting a powerful example of what young people can achieve when their voices are heard, valued, and encouraged.
