Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, brought colour, music, and cultural celebration to the home with a vibrant Caribbean Night, held on the evening of 13 January 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. The event welcomed residents, relatives, and friends for a lively evening of entertainment, food, and community spirit.
Guests enjoyed a range of traditional Caribbean food and refreshments, freshly prepared by Kyle, Head Chef at Park View. Tickets were sold at £5, with all proceeds going towards fundraising for the home’s activity fund to support future resident experiences.
The evening was filled with fun and laughter, featuring live singing entertainment, interactive games, limbo dancing, and a coconut shy. Staff and residents fully embraced the theme, dressing up in hula skirts and colourful outfits, adding to the joyful and immersive atmosphere.
Residents also played an active role in preparing for the event, proudly creating the decorations that transformed the space and reflected the Caribbean theme.
The Home Manager, Dani Pathirage, praised the success of the evening, saying: “This really was a fantastic night. We are celebrating the Year of Culture, and what better way to start than with this event. The idea came from Bridie, our Lifestyle Lead, and it has taken a lot of planning and dedication from the Lifestyle team to bring it all together.”
The Caribbean Night marked the beginning of Park View’s Year of Culture celebrations, highlighting the home’s commitment to inclusion, creativity, and meaningful shared experiences.
Events like this play an important role in bringing residents, families, and staff together, while supporting wellbeing, connection, and enjoyment within the Park View community.
