Cadbury Hall was filled with the joyful sounds of live music as we welcomed some incredible new talent—a saxophone player and a vocalist, beautifully accompanied by one of our residents on acoustic guitar.

The room buzzed with energy, laughter, and smiles. Residents joined in, tapping their feet, clapping, and singing along, creating moments that will be remembered for a long time.

One resident said: “It made me feel young again! I couldn’t stop smiling.” Another shared: “I love how music brings everyone together—it really brightens our day.”

The session was introduced by Sally, our new Activities Co-ordinator, who brings may years of experience in creating meaningful and engaging activities for residents, as she has worked in care and the activities role. With her guidance, the session was inclusive, fun, and full of energy, encouraging everyone to join in and enjoy the moment. Staff also couldn’t help to take a break from their daily duties to join in the performance and have a dance with the residents.

Residents were quick to share their delight: “It made me feel young again! I couldn’t stop smiling.” And “I love how music brings everyone together—it really brightens our day.” Some residents who are introverts also joined in which made the experience even more enjoyable.

“Music has a unique way of lifting spirits and bringing people together. It is one of the most fundamental aspects of our lives. Seeing our residents so engaged reminds us of the simple joy of shared experiences.”
