My father had a week's respite care and I personally loved the facilities and care. Unfortunately my Dad was not well enough to join in with the weekly activity program but did mange a trip to the Garden Centre on the minibus which he enjoyed. The care staff were astute to his needs and looked after
him to the best of their ability.

My Mother in law was accepted in to the home within a few days of asking for respite care and then my father in law was moved from a different home to Cadbury Hall so they could be together.
The staff, food and cleanliness were all excellent. Everything was no trouble.

I came to Cadbury Hall following a fall for 1 week. I found this so beneficial I stayed for a second week. The staff day and night, were all exceptional; kind, friendly caring cheerful supportive and willing to help. Very quickly addressing residents by name. The hall is 'like new'! Very well furnished
and fitted, pictures on walls - all quality. Residents are very well fed. Good menus with good range of choice and food is well presented and enjoyable. The coffee/tea station in reception is a nice facility. The activities programme is very good. Well planned, range of interesting possibilities and alternatives. The hall and the residents are all very well cared for.

My 95 year old aunt was at Cadbury Hall for just 2 weeks respite care. She remembers nothing about the experience due to her dementia but she was warmly welcomed by the manager and staff. She was very well looked after had everything she needed.
The manager was very helpful and a pleasure to deal
with. As well as the excellent carers, many other staff (e.g. housekeeping) would talk to her and help her.

After a fortnight's respite stay in October and due to her increasing need for support, my mum was very happy to permanently move into Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home in late November. The manager and all her team welcomed Mum (almost 101 years old) back with great kindness and Mum has settled in
well.

This has been an excellent stay for the last two weeks. Although I have not been able to take advantage of all the activities, due to my mobility, the staff have looked after me well. The food and care have been superb and have had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This has been my first stay and will
hope to stay again in the near future.
Thanks to you all.

I arrived here from hospital in August 2024. I had been very unwell with very low mood for some months. I now feel very well and am much more cheerful. The staff have treated me with the utmost kindness and although I initially was disappointed with the food provided, it has markedly improved of late.

From making my first enquiry about respite care until the day of discharge back home - my experience of the home was extremely positive. The home is well managed and the manager is often seen around the home and is very friendly and approachable. The care staff (all staff) were all welcoming and friendly.
The home is proactive in providing engaging and therapeutic activity. The food was outstanding and served in beautiful restaurants.
Housekeeping and laundry was exceptional too!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.792) out of 10 for Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (290 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 355 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Audrene Abrigo

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2024

Hi. My name is Audrene, and I am the General Manager here at Cadbury Hall.

My experience of working in healthcare and with the elderly began when I was 16 years old as a Kitchen Assistant in a care home. I grew up watching my mother be a nurse to many - healing, treating and supporting her patients with their health and well-being, and it is from here that my passion grew from childhood for the nursing profession.

I am a Registered Nurse, and I have worked in various roles including District Nursing, Deputy Manager, Regional Clinical Development Nurse and now I’m delighted to have been promoted to the General Manager of Cadbury Hall. I have various qualifications; however, the one I’ve recently completed is the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. This qualification has helped me to further understand myself as a leader and manager.

I have a caring and compassionate nature for elderly care, and I aim to maintain and promote good health and well-being for all Cadbury Hall residents. I look forward to bringing all the experiences and knowledge that I have gained over the years to support the residents in our care, with the main aim of providing a positive life experience. It is a passion of mine to serve this age group, and I look forward to managing and leading the brilliant team at Cadbury Hall.

Please feel free to pop in and have a chat; my door is always open. Hope to see you soon.

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2026

Hi, I'm Paul, head chef here at Cadbury Hall. I started in December 2025. I have a 38-year career as a chef behind me, working in a variety of Hotels & Restaurants in England and Europe. I have owned and managed my own restaurant and cafe in the past. This is my first venture into the care sector, a challenge I am relishing (never too old to learn!). Food is often the heart and soul of the family, a time to sit, chat, laugh, and discuss life, and I believe this is what we are all about here at Cadbury Hall. Bringing the family together through our meal times. I believe in fresh, healthy and sometimes a little bit of naughtiness in our food. As far as I'm concerned Food is both for sustenance and pleasure."

I am passionate about using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients and creating food that is both high quality and sustainable, with a strong focus on minimising waste. In my role, I oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, purchasing, and leading kitchen teams to deliver consistent, enjoyable dining experiences.

Having previously run my own café business as a chef proprietor, I bring both hands-on culinary expertise and a strong understanding of kitchen management and customer-focused hospitality. Supporting, mentoring, and training young chefs has always been an important part of my career.

I hold a Diploma of Higher Education in European Catering Studies and continue to take pride in delivering food that is thoughtful, well-prepared, and made with care.

Job Title: Team Leader Clinical Joined: 2024

Hi, my name is Carmen, 24 years old, and my job role at Cadbury Hall Care Home is that of Team Leader. I have been working in the care sector for 5 years.

I started as a care assistant in one of the sister homes in Wales, where I learned what it means to care for people that are vulnerable and to share the sense of empathy. I had the opportunity to grow my skills, expand my knowledge and build my career, being promoted to Senior Carer at Cadbury Hall in February of 2024, through learning opportunities such as different clinical trainings and not only.

I left in May of 2025 due to personal reasons, but my mind remained thinking about Cadbury Hall, which brought me back in November of 2025, with new experiences and plenty of knowledge, which I am able to share with the team, now in a new position. Having also a very good understanding of regulatory bodies and procedures, I ensure the team is providing excellent and safe care, with the residents’ wishes and needs for a personalised care delivery.

I take pride and joy in my job, and I want to show you what a day of work includes as a Team Leader of a very caring and compassionate team. Do not hesitate to come in and chat with me if you have any questions. I will do my best to find the answer that you are looking for!
