The care my dad has had has been exceptional. The staff have gone above and beyond to make him feel safe and cared for. There is a lovely atmosphere and the facilities make you feel like you are in a hotel rather than a care facility. I trust completely that Dad is in a safe environment.

Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home is consistently caring and respectful of residents. My mother is very happy here. She calls it her home and the staff, her friends.
The home has also gone to extra lengths to care for her - accepting her back from hospital when the hospital had lost her mobility and
working with a physio to get some mobility back.

I stayed for twelve days recuperating from a hip replacement and enjoyed my stay as everyone was very welcoming and helpful.
Meals could have been improved as two days we were served cold soup which had to be sent back three times. I don't understand why the chefs choose so many foreign dishes as
people of our generation just want good, old-fashioned English food and not too spicy. The best meal was coronation chicken but some of the foreign dishes were inedible and had to be sent back.
One member of staff is excellent at washing your hair giving you a good massage, making you feel great. Another member of staff was also very good. Thank them for me.
The only disappointing thing was your misleading information concerning how good you are supposed to be. On my visit to see the home, I was taken to the upstairs dining room where I was most impressed by the wonderful menu. I invited a friend to come and share a meal only to be told that this menu is only to impress visitors and not served. Why be so dishonest and misleading?

I spent two weeks on respite care in May 2024. I did not require care in respect of washing, showering, toileting, shaving, dressing, eating and drinking. The care I did receive was given by friendly attentive staff. The only faults that were noticed were: Bedclothes not changed. Floor not hoovered.
Crockery/cutlery
not collected at the end of many meals. It was left to be collected at the next mealtime, which might mean the next day's breakfast.

The resident originally came to stay for respite, he is now staying permanently. Initially, he would go downstairs to spend the day with the other residents and have his meals downstairs. As time went on, he refused to get out of bed and became aggressive with the staff. They coped with his difficult
behaviour very well (due to his dementia). They arranged for him to have an air mattress as he spends a lot of time in bed. The staff have persevered and gained his trust. He can now be persuaded to get up and sit in the chair. He enjoys the food which is excellent. They have agreed to his recliner chair being brought from home. They do all they can to make him comfortable.

Recently, my husband had a respite stay at the home. He had a decline in his mobility and cognitive abilities just before the stay. The manager of the home was excellent in assessing his needs and the staff, in the face of considerable challenges, demonstrated a willingness and proficiency which made
a huge difference to his care. He is now a permanent resident and his needs are being very well met and I have the peace of mind that he is being very well looked after. At all times, I have been met with courtesy, understanding, kindness and professionalism within the entire staff.

It was daunting leaving my mother for her first stay in a care home. However, despite it being a wet and cold Friday evening, she was welcomed by kind, caring and smiling staff who have now become familiar and remain as dedicated as that first night. During her stay, Mum has blossomed. She not only
looks better but seems stronger and happier too. The food is excellent, the rooms are kept very clean and she is treated with dignity by the caring and very capable team.

I have been a registered nurse for children and adults for more than 50 years. I have visited many homes in my capacity as a community nurse and also as a befriender. So with that experience, I can say that I was so very impressed with my visit today. The staff were welcoming, happy and smiling. I enjoyed
the interaction between residents and staff, clearly very positive and obviously caring. I would recommend this home and wish we had more like this.

The experience of Cadbury Hall is incredible. The residents are treated with dignity and much care, and the carers go above and beyond to meet the resident's needs. All rooms are beautifully decorated with a home-from-home feeling within them, including the restaurant, which serves 3x3 course fabulous
meals a day. There are also plenty of well throughout activities, which cater for all individuals.
I cannot recommend Cadbury Hall enough; this place truly is fantastic. A safe haven for our mother.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.682)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.682) out of 10 for Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.682 for Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (281 Excellents x 5) + (55 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 355 Ratings = 4.682
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Cadbury Hall Care Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2024

Hi. My name is Audrene, and I am the General Manager here at Cadbury Hall.

My experience of working in healthcare and with the elderly began when I was 16 years old as a Kitchen Assistant in a care home. I grew up watching my mother be a nurse to many - healing, treating and supporting her patients with their health and well-being, and it is from here that my passion grew from childhood for the nursing profession.

I am a Registered Nurse, and I have worked in various roles including District Nursing, Deputy Manager, Regional Clinical Development Nurse and now I’m delighted to have been promoted to the General Manager of Cadbury Hall. I have various qualifications; however, the one I’ve recently completed is the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. This qualification has helped me to further understand myself as a leader and manager.

I have a caring and compassionate nature for elderly care, and I aim to maintain and promote good health and well-being for all Cadbury Hall residents. I look forward to bringing all the experiences and knowledge that I have gained over the years to support the residents in our care, with the main aim of providing a positive life experience. It is a passion of mine to serve this age group, and I look forward to managing and leading the brilliant team at Cadbury Hall.

Please feel free to pop in and have a chat; my door is always open. Hope to see you soon.

My name is Bibin Biju. I am from the southern part of India, Kerala, and I moved to the UK in 2022. I am a qualified medical doctor in India and completed my graduation from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

After arriving in the UK, I began my career as a Senior Care Assistant at Barchester Sister Home, Cornwall, where I gained valuable hands-on experience in supporting elderly residents with dignity, compassion, and respect. I later progressed to the role of Team Leader at Cadbury Hall, where I support both residents and staff to ensure high-quality, person-centred care.

I am very happy to be part of the Cadbury Hall team. I have a genuine passion for caring for older people and find great satisfaction in supporting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. I have over 10 years of housekeeping experience with the police before moving into the care sector.

I moved to Cadburyhall because I enjoy the satisfaction and the personal connection to the residents. No, two days are not the same, thanks to the wonderful residents I get to engage with day in and day out.

I hope to maintain high standards and grow my housekeeping team, with a view to keeping the resident at the heart of everything we do.

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2026

Hi, I'm Paul, head chef here at Cadbury Hall. I started in December 2025. I have a 38-year career as a chef behind me, working in a variety of Hotels & Restaurants in England and Europe. I have owned and managed my own restaurant and cafe in the past. This is my first venture into the care sector, a challenge I am relishing (never too old to learn!). Food is often the heart and soul of the family, a time to sit, chat, laugh, and discuss life, and I believe this is what we are all about here at Cadbury Hall. Bringing the family together through our meal times. I believe in fresh, healthy and sometimes a little bit of naughtiness in our food. As far as I'm concerned Food is both for sustenance and pleasure."

I am passionate about using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients and creating food that is both high quality and sustainable, with a strong focus on minimising waste. In my role, I oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, purchasing, and leading kitchen teams to deliver consistent, enjoyable dining experiences.

Having previously run my own café business as a chef proprietor, I bring both hands-on culinary expertise and a strong understanding of kitchen management and customer-focused hospitality. Supporting, mentoring, and training young chefs has always been an important part of my career.

I hold a Diploma of Higher Education in European Catering Studies and continue to take pride in delivering food that is thoughtful, well-prepared, and made with care.

I had the opportunity to grow my skills, expand my knowledge and build my career, being promoted to Senior Carer at Cadbury Hall in February of 2024, through learning opportunities such as different clinical trainings and not only.

I left in May of 2025 due to personal reasons, but my mind remained thinking about Cadbury Hall, which brought me back in November of 2025, with new experiences and plenty of knowledge, which I am able to share with the team, now in a new position. Having also a very good understanding of regulatory bodies and procedures, I ensure the team is providing excellent and safe care, with the residents’ wishes and needs for a personalised care delivery.

I take pride and joy in my job, and I want to show you what a day of work includes as a Team Leader of a very caring and compassionate team. Do not hesitate to come in and chat with me if you have any questions. I will do my best to find the answer that you are looking for!
