Wellbeing Day – What a Fantastic Success!
Our first full-day Wellbeing Event was a true celebration of health, connection, and community – and it created such a wonderful buzz throughout the home.
We were delighted to welcome residents, families, and members of the local community, all coming together to enjoy a day focused on holistic wellbeing
Highlights from the day included:
Nutrition & Wellbeing Talk with Ruth Seymour An informative and engaging talk, with a few surprises along the way! Ruth explored the powerful gut–brain connection, alongside key foundations of health such as hydration and sleep. This sparked lively discussions and lots of thoughtful questions – choice and understanding being at the heart of it all.
Indian Head & Hand Massages with Kate/Angela For some residents, this was their first experience of holistic therapies – and the smiles said it all! A truly relaxing and uplifting experience.
Functional Fitness in the Garden Led by Simon, alongside a local group of young people with learning difficulties, this became a lovely example of intergenerational wellbeing, movement, and shared joy.
A Delicious, Nourishing Lunch Prepared by our Head Chef Paul, with healthy homemade treats including: • Flapjacks with banana, walnut, and seeds • Beetroot & chocolate cake with crème fraîche
(They didn’t last long!)
Afternoon Aromatherapy with Lisa A wonderfully engaging session filled with laughter, stories, and hands-on experiences. Residents loved learning about the power of scent and its health benefits, with the arthritis blend proving especially popular.
Winter Warmer – Cacao Experience The afternoon concluded with a nourishing cacao blend from Ancient + Brave, shared with colleagues. A special recommendation from Angela – a hot chocolate that’s good for you!
We received so many compliments and requests for more healthy, holistic events like this. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.
A truly uplifting day for mind, body, and soul.
Our Wellbeing Day created a genuine buzz across the home and received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many attendees requesting more holistic, health-focused events
Aromatherapy with Lisa Priddy – Presence
The afternoon featured a beautifully engaging aromatherapy session led by Lisa Priddy of Presence, focusing on the power of scent to support relaxation, emotional wellbeing, and physical comfort. Residents enjoyed a hands-on experience exploring carefully selected essential oils, sharing stories and laughter throughout the session. Lisa’s bespoke blends — including a specialist arthritis blend — proved especially popular, demonstrating how personalised, sensory-based therapies can enhance everyday wellbeing.
Nutrition & Wellbeing with Ruth – Root & Renew
The day began with an insightful Nutrition & Wellbeing talk led by Ruth, a Registered Nutritionist from Root & Renew. Her session explored the vital links between gut and brain health, hydration, and sleep, offering practical, evidence-based guidance to support everyday wellbeing.
