On Tuesday, 27 January, staff and residents at Meadowbeck Care Home in Osbaldwick, York is throwing open their doors to veterans and ex-service personnel, and their families to host a Veterans’ Cafe. Anyone who has served in the British Armed Forces is welcome to come along to the home from 10.30am onwards for a catch up over refreshments including lots of tea, coffee and a bacon roll, all courtesy of the home’s talented head chef, Raouf, all completely free of charge.
Mr Martin Rowley – The Lord Mayor of York will be opening the event, also joining us York Army Museum.
Staff and residents at the home want to honour our armed forces and their families who have sacrificed so much to serve our country. Anyone who has served and their families are welcome to attend the free event. Many staff and residents at the home have links to the forces and so collectively they came up with the idea of hosting this event in the home’s beautiful dining room. Our new Veterans café will be held monthly on the last Tuesday of the month.
Annaliza Kemp, General Manager at Meadowbeck Care Home, says: “We are delighted to be able to host this wonderful event in order to give back to our servicemen and women and their families who have selflessly done so much for our country. Please do come along to Meadowbeck Care Home on Tuesday 27th January from 10.30 – 12.00am for some refreshments and a fabulous bacon roll, all veterans and ex-service personnel and their families are welcome.”
