HC-One’s Hepworth House Care Home in Stanley, Wakefield, is delighted to launch a new Pen Pal Project, inviting members of the local community to connect with residents through the simple joy of letter writing.
The initiative encourages people of all ages to send letters to residents, helping to create meaningful connections, spark memories and bring a smile to someone’s day. For residents, receiving a letter can offer companionship, comfort and a reminder that they are part of a caring and supportive community.
A handwritten note, a shared story or even a few kind words can make a real difference. Residents at Hepworth House are looking forward to reading about new people, experiences and everyday moments and, where possible, writing back to their new pen pals.
Debbie Manley, Home Manager at Hepworth House Care Home, said: “Something as simple as receiving a letter can mean so much to our residents. It offers companionship, brings back fond memories and helps people feel connected to the world around them. We’re really excited to see this project bring our community closer together and would love as many people as possible to get involved.”
Anyone who would like to take part is warmly encouraged to send a letter to:
The Pen Pals Hepworth House Care Home City Field Court Stanley Wakefield WF3 4NG
Please remember to include a return address so residents can reply.
Hepworth House would like to thank everyone who gets involved for helping to create moments of connection, kindness and joy for residents.
