Tallis House Weekly ‘Tallis Arms’ Pub Trolley

Tallis House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, continues to create joyful, meaningful experiences for residents through its much-loved weekly ‘Tallis Arms’ Pub Trolley, a unique initiative that has been bringing people together every Friday for the past two years.

Each week, the mobile pub trolley visits every floor of the home, offering residents a choice of their favourite alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with traditional pub snacks, all completely free for residents. Any funds raised go directly back into supporting the service, helping to provide drinks and snacks for future sessions.

The initiative was created after residents shared memories of their favourite pub drinks and socialising experiences during the summer months, inspiring the Lifestyle Team to recreate the familiar and comforting pub atmosphere within the home.

Residents were asked about their favourite drinks and snacks, allowing the team to personalise the experience and ensure everyone could enjoy something they love — from a Baileys to a soft drink, with treats to match.

Residents have shared their enjoyment of the experience, saying:

“We look forward to having our Baileys from the pub trolley.” “Such a lovely idea — and good to have a cheeky drink with my new friends here.”

The atmosphere each week is warm, relaxed, and full of laughter, with residents enjoying their drinks of choice while sharing memories of family, friends, and social occasions from their past.

The Tallis Arms Pub Trolley reflects Tallis House’s commitment to person-centred care, where resident choice, independence, and meaningful social experiences are central to daily life in the home.
