Monthly Care Cafe launched in Congleton.

Park Lane Care Home in Congleton, which is part of the Kingsley Healthcare Group, is delighted that the launch of their new Monthly Care Café on Wednesday 21st January was a huge success and well received by the local community.

The FREE Monthly Care Café which is being held on the third Wednesday of each the month, from 10am to 11.30am, is an excellent opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a hot drink and piece of cake, as well as socialise with other people in a warm and cosy setting.

The home was delighted to welcome Ant Bolding and Peter Hall who set up and run Beartown Rickshaw. Ant gave a fascinating talk about how the Beartown Rickshaw started because of their passion for cycling and wanting to give older and disabled people the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of cycling taking in the beautiful countryside.

During the presentation they shared photographs of the different cycles they own and trips out that residents from the home have enjoyed around the area thanks to Beartown Rickshaw. It was amazing to hear that during the course of the year the Beartown Rickshaw travels 15,000 miles, supporting people from 7 care home and 2 care centres for disabled people who can experience the wonderful feeling of being on a bicycle, in the fresh air and seeing the beautiful countryside. Jayne O’Sullivan, Manager at Park Lane Care Home said “We are delighted that our first Care Café was such a success and we hope it will continue to go from strength to strength and become an important resource in the local community.”
