A Little Trip, A Lot of Happiness For Meadowhill Care Home

Residents from Meadowhill Care Home recently enjoyed a fun filled day out with a visit to Colney Fields Shopping Park, offering a change of scenery and the simple pleasure of getting out and about in the local community.

A Resident-Led Trip Inspired by Everyday Interests

The outing was planned following conversations with residents, who expressed they wanted to enjoy more trips and such as shopping and enjoying a coffee out. This trip allowed residents to explore at their own pace and enjoy familiar routines.

During the trip, residents enjoyed browsing the shops, picking up a few personal items and sharing conversations over coffee. For a lot of residents this trip took them back to memorable times of independent shopping while others simply took in the simple joys in life.

Supporting Wellbeing Through Everyday Experiences

At Meadowhill Care Home, we understand that wellbeing is often found in the small, meaningful moments. Trips like this are a great example of this. Providing a valuable opportunity for residents to have beneficial mental stimulation, independence and to build confidence in real life situations, all essential elements of a healthy mind and wellbeing.
