Newton House Care Home in Grantham celebrated their third Dementia Disco which brought music, laughter and connection to their local community, as residents living with dementia, their families, and carers came together for an uplifting morning of dance and nostalgia.
The Dementia Disco transformed the Care home into a welcoming dance floor that was filled with classic hits, sing-alongs and smiling faces. Residents and guests enjoyed refreshments, socialising and connection through the power of music.
Head of Activities Karen Olivant said ‘Our Dementia Discos are more than just dancing, they help to reduce isolation, and support our wonderful residents whilst creating meaningful moments for those affected by dementia. Music has an incredible way of bringing people together and sparking memories. Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces reminded us why events like this matter so much.”
Due to the success of this amazing project , more Dementia Disco events are planned in the future.
