An Inspiring Visit to The Menuhin Hall

Last Updated: 11 Feb 2026 @ 00:00 AM

Members recently visited The Menuhin Hall in Cobham to attend a concert of sonatas and chamber works performed by pupils of the Yehudi Menuhin School. The programme offered an opportunity to experience live classical music in an intimate concert setting, showcasing the dedication and discipline of the young musicians.

The standard of musicianship was widely admired and the balance between skill and expression left a strong impression, with several noting the maturity and confidence of the performers.

Live music of this calibre provides both cultural enrichment and intellectual stimulation. Chamber works, in particular, invite close listening and encourage reflection on interpretation, phrasing and collaboration between musicians.

At Loveday, outings such as this are chosen to offer meaningful engagement with the arts. The visit to The Menuhin Hall was a reminder of the enduring power of live performance and the pleasure of sharing music in good company.
