Residents, families and members of the local community came together to celebrate the fourth anniversary of Buckler’s Lodge care home in Crowthorne with a lively birthday party filled with music, dancing, and cake.
The celebrations saw special guests including Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest, Councillor Janet Cochrane and Reverend Rickey Simpson-Gray who joined residents in enjoying live entertainment from local performer Julie Dally who is a singer and guitarist. Also in attendance was Kim Mears, Kim has been Family Liaison Manager for the home since it opened.
Guests gathered in the home’s Bistro Lounge which opened four years ago to the day, to mark the milestone. Following speeches by the Mayor and Home General Manager, Juliet Gallop, a specially baked birthday cake, was ceremoniously cut for all to share, by in-house Chef, Paddy, who prepared and baked all the food for the special event.
Juliet Gallop, General Manager of Buckler’s Lodge, said: “It was wonderful to see residents, families and the wider community come together to celebrate this special milestone, and I am grateful that our special guests were able to join us. Over the past four years we have built something truly special here at Buckler’s Lodge, and I am incredibly proud of our dedicated team. As the new General Manager, I am excited to continue strengthening our connections within the Crowthorne community.”
Family Liaison Manager Kim Mears added: “Events like this are so important because they bring families and residents together in a relaxed and joyful setting. Seeing everyone enjoying the music and celebrating together on such a lovey day really captured the spirit of Buckler’s Lodge.”
Buckler’s Lodge provides residential, dementia and short-term respite care for older people. Buckler’s Lodge is part of the Greensleeves Care group who are proud to offer permanent residents a ‘Home for Life’ funding assurance, ensuring that residents can stay in the place they have come to call home should their personal funds deplete, provided that local authority funding can meet the cost of care.
