Residents at Barchester Healthcare’s Highfield care home, in Barkston Ash, North Yorkshire, celebrated Mother’s Day with visits and video calls from family members near and far. The home was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and bunting for the occasion.
Staff at Highfields arranged an extra special treat from a couple of surprise visitors. Teddy and Franklin went around the home giving out flowers to all of the residents, visitors and staff. The residents thoroughly enjoyed spending time with these two delivery boys. The boys even managed to find the time to play some games with the residents and enjoy some sweet treats.
General Manager, Rebekka Richardson said: “We’ve all had a really lovely day. It has been so good to see family members who were able to visit in person and to have video calls with those who are further away. Our residents enjoyed a fantastic lunch and then a delicious afternoon tea prepared by our brilliant chefs. Days like these are so precious.”
Patricia Niven a resident at Highfields, commented: “We have been so spoiled today, the staff always go to great lengths to make sure days like this are so precious. It was wonderful to see my family and to be able to spend some quality time together plus we all had a fabulous afternoon tea. Then, having Teddy and Franklin surprise us with our flowers made the day even more special. I absolutely loved it.”
