Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently welcomed local schoolchildren for a heartwarming Easter Bonnet Show, bringing together residents, staff, and young visitors for a day full of creativity, laughter, and community spirit.
The event took place at the Bluebell Café within the home, where residents and children collaborated on festive activities, including making colourful Easter paper chain decorations. The highlight of the day was the children’s Easter bonnet parade, which delighted everyone in attendance.
Residents were particularly charmed by the creativity on display. One resident commented: "Look at those children’s bonnets, how lovely they look."
The atmosphere throughout the event was lively and engaging, with residents chatting, laughing, and fully immersing themselves in the celebrations. A standout moment came during the craft session, when a resident wearing bunny ears sparked laughter among the group, creating a joyful and shared experience.
The event was attended by residents, staff, local schoolchildren, and their teachers. Regular visits from the school have helped build meaningful relationships between generations, fostering a strong sense of belonging and companionship.
Chelmunds Court continues to prioritise activities that encourage social interaction, creativity, and community involvement, ensuring residents remain active and connected.
