Hickathrift House care home, in Marshland St James, Wisbech, was full of animal mischief when Darwin the pony came to visit the home.

Residents at Hickathrift House were pleasantly surprised to see their new furry friend roaming around the home when Brenda and her Therapy Pony, Darwin paid a visit.

General Manager, Paula Melerski said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitor today. We knew that having the pony therapy here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”

Resident, Elsie was very excited by the visiting pony A big part of Elsie's life is horses and she just adores animals. So, the team worked with Brenda and her pet therapy pony Darwin to pay Elsie and the other residents a lovely visit.
