Somerset House Care & Nursing Home in Wheldrake invites the local community to its newly refurbished and extended home during an open day on Thursday, 16th April, from 2pm to 4pm.
Located in Wheldrake near York, the home offers residential, nursing, and dementia care for up to 55 residents.
Inside, you’ll find a welcoming Coffee Club café, newly added en-suite bedrooms, a hair salon, cosy lounges and comfortable dining areas. Every space has been thoughtfully designed to support residents in living a full and meaningful life, with care available around the clock.
Home Manager Dipin Peters said, “I’m very proud to be the Home Manager at Somerset House and we’re so excited to welcome the local community into our lovely home.”
The Open Day is a great opportunity for local people to explore, meet the team, and get a sense of life at Somerset House. Guests will be invited to tour the home, see the facilities for themselves, enjoy live entertainment and sample some of the delicious food on offer. The team will also be on hand to answer any questions about moving into a care home or the support available in Wheldrake.
As part of its commitment to the local community, Somerset House has also recently launched monthly community coffee mornings. These take place every second Friday of the month from 10am to 12pm and offer a relaxed space to meet neighbours, local groups, and the team, all over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
