On Sunday 29 March here at Woodstock Care Home in Sittingbourne, we began our morning by watching a live Palm Sunday service on television, streamed from St Peter’s Square in Rome. It was a beautiful and reflective way to start the day.
Inspired by the occasion, we then turned to a creative activity, making our own palm leaf decorations. They had a lovely mosaic feel, bringing colour and a touch of sparkle into our Home. Some of our residents also designed and coloured their own palm leaves, using a variety of different pattern techniques.
During the week, our residents also enjoyed some Easter fun by designing and decorating their very own Easter bonnets — such a lovely tradition! Everyone made use of a variety of spring-themed accessories, colourful paper, and cheerful stickers to bring the magic of Easter to life.
On Tuesday, we proudly showed off our spectacular creations during a high-spirited Easter bonnet parade.
After much admiration and careful deliberation, our judges selected two lucky winners, who were each presented with a tasty prize.
