All bedrooms are tastefully decorated, most of which have ensuite facilities. The home comprises six different lounges and private seating areas, a large garden and patio area, a light and airy conservatory, and an onsite hair salon.

Woodstock's Recreation and Well-being team ensure residents receive tailored care, a fun social lifestyle, and entertainment seven days a week. They pride themselves on a wonderfully varied programme of activities designed to appeal to every resident. Whether this involves arts and crafts, singing along with live entertainers, gardening and cooking, one-on-one time solving a crossword, or a gentle hand massage, residents’ individual preferences are always considered.

Championing the importance of person-centred nutrition for older people and those with dementia, Nellsar employs a Head of Nutrition and Wellness for their homes. The Woodstock catering team recognises that nutrition and hydration are integral to good health and well-being, providing delicious and nutritious meals and snacks every day.

Woodstock also benefits from a well-being team of fully qualified holistic therapists who use nurturing touch, complementary therapies, and relaxing treatments to enhance residents’ quality of life and sense of well-being.

Mum spent a month at Woodstock on respite care after a hospital stay. It's the best decision we could have made as she was looked after extremely well by all the staff and we were confident that she was safe and happy at all times. A big big thank you for taking such good care of mum and for making
us all feel part of the Woodstock family.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Operations and Compliance Manager at Woodstock Care CentreThank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased that your mum had a positive stay with us. Your kind words mean so much to our team.

Mum is cared for well and all her needs are met she struggles to eat the food she is given sometimes but I've relayed this and she is being monitored now at mealtimes most of the time.
Her clothes are still a bit of an issue as in she dressed in clothes other than her own on occasions.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Operations and Compliance Manager at Woodstock Care CentreThank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that your mum is being well cared for and that her needs are being met.
We appreciate you sharing your observations regarding mealtimes and clothing. We are aware that there were some issues with clothing in the past, which were addressed at the time and discussed with you. Please be assured that our management and staff team remain open and approachable, and always welcome the opportunity to discuss and act on any concerns promptly.
Your feedback is important to us and helps us to continually improve the care we provide.

Dad has been at Woodstock for a couple of years now. He knows the building well as his father helped build the original house. This means that Dad had a connection to the place from the start. He is very aware of things and his dementia is very mild, but he also has mobility issues and short term memory
is very poor. He found the transition to a home very hard and resisted the move. However, he was treated with kindness and dignity from the outset. The staff are all, without exception, amazing. I am unable to visit as often as I would wish as I live many hours away. However, I know that Dad is in the best possible place, receiving top class care. All the staff (handpicked for their qualities I feel certain) are helpful, kind, hardworking and amazingly supportive to their residents. This Care home is well run from every aspect. There is plenty to keep the residents active and entertained. Best Care home EVER!!!

I recommend Woodstock Care Home highly for its care, understanding and professionalism ,always approachable and more like part of our family than a care home. They have all been exceptional with my Dad,Brian ,for Day care and given us the much needed break when required, which has then enabled us to
cope with every day life caring for someone with Dementia. A big thank you from us all x

This place is a real 'Home'. Just dropped dad off there for daycare today and a member of staff recognised him and gave him a big smile and a wave. Made his day! He couldn't get in there fast enough. It's normally so difficult due to his Alzheimer's and this natural gesture meant the world to Dad and
me. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.720)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.720) out of 10 for Woodstock Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.720 for Woodstock Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (252 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 332 Ratings = 4.72
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodstock Care Centre is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Collectively, our team has a wide range of exceptional skills that enable us to focus on the well-being of our residents, and deliver tailored, person-centred care.

Our Unit Managers make sure our residents’ clinical care and medical needs are expertly catered for, and our care staff work extremely hard to ensure that residents receive the best all-round care, in a way that is of their choosing. Ensuring our residents’ happiness and contentment is of the utmost importance, as is making sure they feel like Woodstock is their home.

“Hello, my name is Marina Foreman. I am the Senior Recreation and Well-Being Lead at Woodstock Residential Care Home and I started in December 2016. I’m very proud of completing multiple training courses over the years, including Mental Health Level 3, the Care Certificate, Advanced Course Dementia, NVQ Level 2 in Principles of Dementia and Virtual Dementia Tour.

I passionately believe meaningful activities are the key to good mental health and well-being. I believe that everyone has a value and I want to support people to lead their best possible lives. My job role allows me to bring smiles to people's faces and seeing the residents having fun, laughing and enjoying themselves makes me happy. It gives me great pleasure to know that I’m making a difference. I am also very proud of getting Woodstock in the newspaper and the good feedback I receive from families about the Activities that we provide at the Home.

Over the years, Activities has become more widely recognised as a very important part of care for our residents’ well-being. Nellsar and the team I work with at Woodstock are very supportive with my ideas and helping me to achieve my goals and bring activities to the Home.”

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

“I currently work at Woodstock as a Kitchen Assistant, and I have been an assistant cook since June 2019. I previously worked as a Kitchen Assistant from 2007 to 2009 and I came back in June 2020 on a teatime duty.

I became a Care Assistant at Woodstock for a year after leaving my job in Sittingbourne Community School as a Catering Assistant, which I worked at for nearly eleven years. When the pandemic started my job role changed as I became a full time Kitchen Assistant and Assistant Cook. I even became employee of the month on the year of 2019!

I have been provided with lots of different training from the Home including Dementia Care, First Aid, Nutrition and Hydration and much more. I also achieved a certificate for the Nellsar Chef Masterclass in 2019.

I love and enjoy my job – especially in the cooking. Over the years working at Woodstock, I gained a lot of confidence. Working with such a friendly and supportive team has helped me grow throughout my journey and I feel I have become stronger in myself.”
