"The staff and I here at Woodstock are very committed to providing excellent care and upholding the values of our residents and their families. Collectively, our team has a wide range of exceptional skills that enable us to focus on the well-being of our residents, and deliver tailored, person-centred care.
Our Unit Managers make sure our residents’ clinical care and medical needs are expertly catered for, and our care staff work extremely hard to ensure that residents receive the best all-round care, in a way that is of their choosing. Ensuring our residents’ happiness and contentment is of the utmost importance, as is making sure they feel like Woodstock is their home.
Our Recreation and Well-Being Team provides a broad range of meaningful activities that allow residents to enjoy life; family and friends are very much a part of it all. We have a fabulous Catering Team that provides delicious meals for our residents – varied menus that cater for all tastes and medical needs.
Our Housekeeping department ensures our Home is kept clean, tidy and maintained to a high standard, providing a comfortable and attractive environment our residents can enjoy and feel proud to live in.
Put all our wonderful teams and shared values together and this is Woodstock; we care about providing a real home environment for our residents and are very proud to be part of the Nellsar family."
“Hello, my name is Marina Foreman. I am the Senior Recreation and Well-Being Lead at Woodstock Residential Care Home and I started in December 2016. I’m very proud of completing multiple training courses over the years, including Mental Health Level 3, the Care Certificate, Advanced Course Dementia, NVQ Level 2 in Principles of Dementia and Virtual Dementia Tour.
I passionately believe meaningful activities are the key to good mental health and well-being. I believe that everyone has a value and I want to support people to lead their best possible lives. My job role allows me to bring smiles to people's faces and seeing the residents having fun, laughing and enjoying themselves makes me happy. It gives me great pleasure to know that I’m making a difference. I am also very proud of getting Woodstock in the newspaper and the good feedback I receive from families about the Activities that we provide at the Home.
Over the years, Activities has become more widely recognised as a very important part of care for our residents’ well-being. Nellsar and the team I work with at Woodstock are very supportive with my ideas and helping me to achieve my goals and bring activities to the Home.”
"Hello, my name is Lynn Clemons and I am the Head Chef at Woodstock. I started as the Weekend Cook in October 2000, where I then had the opportunity to work full time as Cook. The training has improved since I started, as we now have the same training as all our care staff including Dementia, SOVA and Moving and Handling. This has given me a greater understanding of the people we care for; I enjoy my job making sure my residents eat well and enjoy their meals.
Woodstock is a very homely and happy place to work. The food we provide has massively improved and our residents have more choice – even the puréed meals have improved with the use moulds and piping techniques. The puréed meals we serve our residents on a soft food diet retain the attractive appearance of the regular meals we serve everyone else.
We have a very supportive team here at Woodstock – from the managers to the care staff – we work as a team. The best part about working with and leading my Kitchen staff is to making sure that our residents are happy with the catering services we provide. We also strive to ensure their families are happy that their mums, dads, and grandparents are content and well looked after.”
“I currently work at Woodstock as a Kitchen Assistant, and I have been an assistant cook since June 2019. I previously worked as a Kitchen Assistant from 2007 to 2009 and I came back in June 2020 on a teatime duty.
I became a Care Assistant at Woodstock for a year after leaving my job in Sittingbourne Community School as a Catering Assistant, which I worked at for nearly eleven years. When the pandemic started my job role changed as I became a full time Kitchen Assistant and Assistant Cook. I even became employee of the month on the year of 2019!
I have been provided with lots of different training from the Home including Dementia Care, First Aid, Nutrition and Hydration and much more. I also achieved a certificate for the Nellsar Chef Masterclass in 2019.
I love and enjoy my job – especially in the cooking. Over the years working at Woodstock, I gained a lot of confidence. Working with such a friendly and supportive team has helped me grow throughout my journey and I feel I have become stronger in myself.”
