My mum has been at Woodstock for just over two years. She has age-related mental health issues. Trusting someone to look after a relative is not easy, I have faith that all the staff at Woodstock have Mum's care and best interests at heart. Mum looks well cared for whenever I visit and the home always has a good atmosphere. The staff put on a lot of extra activities for residents, which always seem to be enjoyed. We definitely picked the right place for Mum.

Due to coronavirus, we have not seen inside the home. We have been sent pictures, which give us a very good impression. Contact with staff so far has been very good. From what we've seen and heard, Mum seems to have settled in and is happy, which is a relief for us.

The standard of care at the Woodstock is excellent. The whole team strive to make life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The catering is really good, with a great choice and the team are flexible when it comes to likes and dislikes. The accommodation is good and maintenance is carried out quickly and efficiently when required. The activities team are fantastic and always try and do all possible to arrange visits within the current guidelines; nothing is too much trouble. Communication is consistently good and they always keep me updated regarding Mum's ups and downs. I know the staff are working in very trying circumstances on several levels and I cannot praise them highly enough. Superb all round.

Woodstock staff and management are always professional, courteous and caring. They have treated my mum as a surrogate family to her. Always tending her needs and making her smile. They have provided a safe, gentle, caring atmosphere, which Mum has positively thrived on over the last four years. I am always quickly informed of any minor problems and needs to which I need to help decide the best course of action for her wellbeing. Mum now eats foods which, prior to her residency, she would have refused. This is the best compliment I could give the cooks and kitchen staff who help monitor Mum's needs - she often eats several portions. Activities have been challenging but met by truly dedicated, amazing staff. Management have been informative, helpful, understanding and accessible at all times. Thank you, Woodstock, for being an amazing team.

I can't recommend Woodstack highly enough. The care and support that Dad has received since he's been here, is second to none. I was really worried when Dad first came, but my fears were soon put to rest by the amazing staff. Dad is happy and settled, and I couldn't be happier.

My whole family have complete faith in Woodstock. After my grandmother moved in during Dec 2019, we have been 100% impressed with every aspect of her care. The public rooms are always spotless, as is my grandmother's bedroom. The staff go out of their way to entertain and accommodate her needs and interests. The food, snacks and drinks seem to flow freely and are of a high quality. It feels like we are leaving her with family and we are truly thankful for all they do.

My mum has been here a year today and I looked at several homes before I chose this one and it is an excellent place. The staff are very kind and always eager to help, there is always something for my mum to do. My mum is very happy being here and I am pleased that she is. The food is of excellent quality and I have tried the food so I do know. I have always been kept informed of anything that is going on in the care home. Any concerns I have over my mum have always been dealt with in a professional but kind and helpful way and this is a very difficult time.

My father-in-law moved into Woodstock about three weeks before COVID-19 lockdown.
The staff have been in contact weekly by email/phone updating me with events and images of him. They arranged for me to speak with him and he sounded happy and content. Most important things to him are food, comfort and having someone around if he needs them.

Woodstock have gone over and above my expectations and I would highly recommend anyone considering moving an elderly relative into a home to visit Woodstock.

Our tour of the home was informative, thorough and welcoming. We were taken everywhere and all of our questions were answered with confidence. Our needs and wishes dealt with quickly, the staff friendly and there's a happy atmosphere.

We are always included in what is going on while we visit and given refreshments. We are aware the home is being updated and recruiting more staff which is a positive thing for everyone. We are excited to see the results.

Our Aunt and late husband joined Woodstock during 2008, they always had good care. We feel that Woodstock is her 'Home' now and she is always treated well despite her occasional outbursts. The fact that our Aunt will be 98 next month shows how she has benefitted from the kind, caring environment. Thank you.

This residential home is only suitable for dementia clients that sit in a chair all day.
The carers do their best, but if a client wanders they are unsupervised.
They have no idea on how to manage difficult dementia clients and go in mob-handed which adds to the client's distress. My mother was left in wet pads and bed at times no sheets on her bed and dried faeces on her mattress.
Several times I visited, and her breakfast was left cold on her bedside table, along with her morning hot drink (which was cold), which means that no one entered her room to clean things away.
The valance sheet was urine stained for at least four weeks, despite telling several members of staff, I have photos to evidence this.
Dirty pads were left in her en suite from one day to the next (also supported by photographic evidence). Dirty tissues fell behind bedside cabinet and under beds there for weeks.
One of her tablets found on the floor.

They lost her dentures and other items of clothing.

“Hello, my name is Marina Foreman. I am the Senior Recreation and Well-Being Lead at Woodstock Residential Care Home and I started in December 2016. I’m very proud of completing multiple training courses over the years, including Mental Health Level 3, the Care Certificate, Advanced Course Dementia, NVQ Level 2 in Principles of Dementia and Virtual Dementia Tour.

I passionately believe meaningful activities are the key to good mental health and well-being. I believe that everyone has a value and I want to support people to lead their best possible lives. My job role allows me to bring smiles to people's faces and seeing the residents having fun, laughing and enjoying themselves makes me happy. It gives me great pleasure to know that I’m making a difference. I am also very proud of getting Woodstock in the newspaper and the good feedback I receive from families about the Activities that we provide at the Home.

Over the years, Activities has become more widely recognised as a very important part of care for our residents’ well-being. Nellsar and the team I work with at Woodstock are very supportive with my ideas and helping me to achieve my goals and bring activities to the Home.”

Agnes EastonJob Title:Kitchen Assistant

“I currently work at Woodstock as a Kitchen Assistant, and I have been an assistant cook since June 2019. I previously worked as a Kitchen Assistant from 2007 to 2009 and I came back in June 2020 on a teatime duty.

I became a Care Assistant at Woodstock for a year after leaving my job in Sittingbourne Community School as a Catering Assistant, which I worked at for nearly eleven years. When the pandemic started my job role changed as I became a full time Kitchen Assistant and Assistant Cook. I even became employee of the month on the year of 2019!

I have been provided with lots of different training from the Home including Dementia Care, First Aid, Nutrition and Hydration and much more. I also achieved a certificate for the Nellsar Chef Masterclass in 2019.

I love and enjoy my job – especially in the cooking. Over the years working at Woodstock, I gained a lot of confidence. Working with such a friendly and supportive team has helped me grow throughout my journey and I feel I have become stronger in myself.”
