Loose Valley Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I came to Loose Valley for rehabilitation after a serious motorcycle accident, with broken bones in my leg, arm and shoulders. I was unable to weight bear for the first 8 weeks and received in-house physio to build my strength.
In the last five weeks, I have learnt to stand, walk with a zimmer and
now with a quad stick. I have also learnt to walk up and down stairs. The in-house physio has been brilliant and has enabled me to go home to complete my rehabilitation.
I have been well looked after by all of the staff who were kind, caring and friendly. Unlike most residents my single objective has been to recover to leave and go home. Loose Valley has enabled me to achieve my objective in less time than had been expected. I have been in a caring home during a very challenging time in my life. I have no doubt that the support and encouragement of everyone in the Home has contributed to my recovery.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Senior Manager at Loose Valley Care CentreThank you so much for sharing your experience, Peter. We are all truly touched by your kind words.

It's wonderful to hear how the support from everyone at Loose Valley, from our physiotherapy, nursing and care teams to our kitchen, housekeeping, laundry, activities staff etc., has helped you regain your strength and mobility. Every member of the team takes pride in supporting our residents, and your feedback shows how their dedication can make a real difference.

We are delighted that we could help you achieve your goal of returning home sooner than expected. Your determination and positivity have been inspiring, and your journey is exactly why we do what we do every day.

We have been visiting our family member at Lukestone Care Centre for a few years, they were always well cared for & happy, from the minute we stepped inside the door we were made to feel welcome, always plenty of staff around tending to the residents needs, we were always offered refreshments, all
the residents were happy, on one occasion when we were in the main lounge area one lady was quite distressed and a carer sat with her and spoke so kindly to her and showed her such care it wasn't long before the lady had cheered up. Having visited other friends and family members in other care facilities, we can honestly say Lukestone stands out head & shoulders above the rest. Amazing staff, like home away from home.
Reply from Alison Ruddock, Operations & Compliance Manager at Lukestone Care CentreMany thanks for such lovely feedback. We are genuinely delighted to receive such positivity which will help prospective clients feel comfortable coming to Lukestone.

My legend of a nan sadly had to end up in care recently and I was so scared of this and felt worried she would not be cared for like she was at home. however the team at silverpoint reassured me constantly and made her feel welcome from day 1.
The facilities are modern and the food was good. The carers
were friendly and they are there for the family as well as the residents. My Nan was treated with dignity and they encourage independence where possible which I think is really important X .

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our mother spent 3 weeks in respite at Hengist Field. When she arrived her mobility was very poor due to a fractured hip she sustained in March. She was keen to participate in physio and immediately began sessions with Tony.
On arrival, she was greeted and welcomed by the entire team including Tony.
Within a few days, her mobility and walking distance improved remarkably -truly mind blowing progress.
Every single member of staff we met were friendly , easy going and lovely. It was clear she was treated as a human being who could make her own decisions.
Our mother felt as though she had been on holiday for 3 weeks, happy , cared for and well looked after.
A big thankyou to the management team for their input and support during her stay.
If your'e considering Hengist field we would highly recommend them . The warmth of the staff, the proactive rehabilitation, and the respectful treatment of residents make it stand out
Reply from Neli Koleva, Registered Manager at Hengist Field Care CentreThank you so much for sharing this wonderful feedback! Were delighted to hear that your mother felt happy, cared for, and well supported during her stay at Hengist Field. Our team works hard to create a welcoming environment where every resident feels respected and empowered to make their own choices, so your kind words mean a lot to us. Well be sure to share your comments with the entire teamthey will be thrilled to know their efforts made such a positive difference.

My mother spent the final 12 days of her life in Loose Valley Care Centre looked after by the professional team of friendly and caring staff. As you enter the beautiful building the warm and friendly atmosphere greets you and you feel like you are walking into someone's home rather than a Care Centre.

When mum was placed here the initial meeting and impression of home was good and welcoming. She settled in quickly and was looked after extremely well with compassion as she was unwell at the time. Upon our numerous visits we were offered tea/coffee and even biscuits as we sat with her in the communal
room. Her own room was very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent with snacks between and nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff. When she got better and was sent home the bond between her and the staff was fantastic - thank you all.

Your mum and your family is part of our family here in Lukestone, and we are truly ever grateful to have such opportunity to provide that care to your mum and be supported by you and whole family and friends. We will visit her soon and if you have a chance please come down with mum for lunch, coffee and above all on our big events. Always here if you need help, and truly appreciate your lovely words which will inspire our team to continue to provide heartfelt care and support to our dear residents and their family and friends.

Thank you for looking after our aunt "Peggy". There were one of two occasions where her dignity was overlooked ie on the commode and door left open. Cleanliness good overall but let down on odd occasion. We appreciate staff were stretched at these times. The main feeling we had was the wonderful care
and compassion shown to not only to her but us also by everyone at Silverpoint Court.

I am sorry that there were occasions where dignity was not provided and on occasions you feel cleanliness was a concern, we will discuss this with the team in order to improve and ensure these standards are met continuously within the service. We do value all feedback and the time it takes to do this and I thank you for bringing these to our attention. The comments regarding care and compassion will also be shared with out home team, thank you.

St Winifred's admitted my mum for respite care which very quickly became end of life care. Although she was only there for a very short time we cannot fault the care she was given. The staff were hugely helpful and knowledgable before she arrived with two visits. While there she received the kindest
love, care and attention from all staff. There was excellent liaison with her doctor's surgery and good medical support on site. Her room was lovely with an en-suite shower room. All staff were so kind to all our family as we struggled to come to terms with the end of her life - surrounding us with kindness, tea and sandwiches and a family room for respite and meetings. The other facilities in the home look lovely and it was very special to have a visit from the therapy dog. A big thank you to the whole team who made the final days of mum' life easier to bear.
Reply from Alison Ruddock, Operations & Compliance Manager at St Winifreds Care CentreMany thanks for providing your feedback which is invaluable for appraising our service but also so helpful to potential residents looking for the right place of care. Princess Christian is unique not only in its impeccably high standards of care but the way everyone is cared for with dignity, respect and compassion. The management is inspirational, and the home runs like clockwork. The imagination and enthusiasm of the wellbeing team is amazing. The home is immaculate
and well maintained. The food is incredible, especially for residents on modified diets. I cannot praise the nursing team enough for their high standards and values.

My mum has just spent two weeks at Meyer Care home for respite care, both her and I would like to thank all the staff that cared and looked after her during her stay. My mum rated the staff and the food very highly during her stay.
During my daily visits to the home, I was always welcomed as I arrived
by the receptionist and had interaction with all the staff from the cleaner to the manager and can think of no negatives. All engaged in conversation and appeared content working there.
Reply from Torie Sabbarton, Operations Manager at Meyer House Care CentreGlad to hear you and your Mum had a positive experience at Meyer House! Thank you for your lovely feedback and we hope to see you both again if the need arises.

Abbotsleigh Care Centre

My mother passed on 3rd September this year having been a resident of Abbotsleigh for very nearly 3 years. She was looked after wonderfully well by all the staff and carers. Despite being confused through dementia she didn't always remember peoples names but she always told me she was well looked after.

My

desire was always for her to be somewhere she was safe & comfortable, I think we were lucky she went to Abbotsleigh. In addition to my mum being well looked after I would like to recognise how well I personally was treated by all the staff at Abbotsleigh, I was always made to feel welcome, kept fully advised of what was going on at both the home and with mother. I will obviously miss my mother, but I will also miss seeing the team at Abbotsleigh.

Thank you for the marvellous job you have done and made the last 3 years of my mother's life better for all concerned.

Reply from Alina Abagiu, Registered Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much for your kind words, Alan. It was a privilege to care for your mother over the past three years and we are so pleased she felt safe and comfortable with us. It means a great deal to know that you also felt supported and welcomed. We will miss seeing you too, and send our deepest condolences.
