Dad moved to Princess Christian in February 2024.
From our first visit we were impressed. The building and rooms were spotless and the staff were happy and welcoming. Dad took a while to settle but staff were patient and kind to him and he soon got a routine going.
When we visited we were aware that
there were a lot more things Dad could have been involved in had he had been able to, but unfortunately his illness meant this was not the case, shame as everyone taking part seemed to be enjoying it.
Reply from Mario Taherian, Manager at Princess Christian Care Centre

She has plenty of choice with her food and if there is nothing on the menu she fancy's she can choose something else. There are fun activities with friendly staff on hand and sometimes trips

My father joined Lukestone in November 2024 because he could no longer weight bare and his Alzheimer's disease was worsening. My brother and I could no longer look after him at home.
All the staff made him feel very welcome and he was always kept clean, shaven and extremely well fed. There was a period
when dad did join in the many activities that the girls did and I could see that he was enjoying himself.
There was always enough staff in the lounge area and I felt that it had a happy family atmosphere. I got to know the staff and they would always answer any questions that I had and treat me as one of the family. I also made friends with some of the relatives who became a great support network.
I loved the resident of the day idea and had Sunday lunch with my dad several times. Those memories I will treasure.
The facilities are homely which personally I preferred for my dad. I wanted him to feel at ease and relaxed.
The end of life care was excellent.

Thank you for your review and I completely agree with you, training is so very important for our teams and we have a continuous training plan to help support the knowledge and practice of caring for all people including those living with a Dementia. Getting to know people is vital and understanding individuals in our care and what may help distract and alleviate negativity is very important. We will review the training provided to ensure this continues to provide our staff understanding and work with the team to deal with any gaps in knowledge and practice. On arrival for the first time I was very impressed with the level of security in the care home from the codes on all doors and lift to checking in and out. There's no restriction on visiting hours and all staff that we encountered were polite, helpful and caring.
My mum's room was immaculate and her
clothes were changed regularly. She seemed to be quite content and interacted with staff in a positive way. I travelled from another country to see her and am very happy with the care she's receiving and have peace of mind leaving her.
The manager explained mum's condition and care to us and promised to keep us updated on her progress.
Overall I'm very impressed with the professionalism of all staff while still being compassionate to residents.

After a spell in hospital, my sister's dementia necessitated going into care, which was quite a shock as, at that point, I wanted her to come home. She was taken to Abbotsleigh Care Centre. Over time, she settled in and her usual happy personality returned. I can't speak highly enough of all the staff
involved in her care and how the home is run. She seems very happy, she is well cared for and is safe. Her day to day life is much fuller than it would have been had she returned home. The outside space is lovely, and they can feed the chickens. There is plenty of room for people to sit, and we recently had a BBQ and strawberries and cream.

Loose Valley Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
After a motorcycle accident in April 2025 I spent 8 weeks in hospital. Owing to a fractured pelvis, at the end of that time I still had limited mobility and it was not feasible for me to go back home, so I was placed at Loose Valley Care Centre.
I was initially very wary of going to a care home, but
I was very pleasantly surprised.
The setting is very pleasant, all my visitors commented on how nice it was there
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They all seem to actually enjoy their job, which is nice to see.
There is a physio who is onsite twice a week.
They don't just look after resident's physical needs, they also arrange activities, such a quizzes, bingo, visiting entertainment and excursions. I went on 3 of the outings and very much enjoyed them.
I spent just over 6 weeks there, until my pelvis had healed sufficiently to allow me to go home.
It was hard to say goodbye when I left.

Meyer House Care Centre

Mum has settled in very well. She likes the staff, including the cleaners. Everyone says hello or waves to her as they pass, and she responds with a smile or a wave back. I personally cannot fault anything, and mum seems very happy in herself.
Reply from Torie Sabbarton, Operations Manager at Meyer House Care Centre

So pleased to hear your Mum has settled in so well and lovely to know that the smiles and waves are so well received. Thank you for such a positive review which I know the staff will be pleased to read.

Abbotsleigh Care Centre

My husband has been at Abbotsleigh now for 18 months and settled in very quickly with the care of the staff who were very attentive to his needs. They always address him by name and try to engage him when they can which is not east as he is very tired and sleepy. His weight has stabilised since being
there although he is very thin, but the staff try to move him regularly to avoid bedsores. He is in his chair in the coffee room every 2-3 days which he enjoys with singers coming in, organised by the entertainment team.

We live in California and this was the first time we saw my grandma at St Winifreds. It seems that she is exceptionally well taken care of. Wehn we visit she is out of her room, sitting in the sun. She is regularly offered snacks and refreshments. The staff go above and beyond to ensure she is comfortable
and happy. Furthermore, they have made our visits with her so happy and welcomed us into the home too. We really appreciate it!
Reply from Alison Ruddock, Operations & Compliance Manager at St Winifreds Care Centre
