With 53 rooms, the Home is set in a Grade II listed building with purpose-built extensions and outstanding amenities. The team cares for residents with dignity, empathy and understanding, and are fully trained to a high level...

The team cares for residents with dignity, empathy and understanding, and are fully trained to a high level in Advanced Dementia Care.
The Home also has a full-time Physiotherapist to support residents with rehabilitation, including bespoke packages for day care or short-term placements. Physiotherapy services also help with improving peoples’ strength, avoiding or reducing falls, contractures, and improved overall well-being.
35 bedrooms have ensuite facilities and the Home has three large lounges with easy chairs, large-screen TVs and a separate dining area. There is also a well-equipped activity provision and residents can enjoy the secure, peaceful gardens and outdoor seating.
Socialising forms an important part of daily life St Winifreds and team members ensure that there is something on offer for everyone, including group sing-a-longs, visits from musicians and entertainers and trips out to local beach. Residents are encouraged to remain active and pursue hobbies and interests, both old and new.
One of the first care providers to champion the importance of nutrition for the elderly and those with Dementia, Nellsar employ a Head of Nutrition and Wellness for their Homes. St Winifreds acknowledges that nutrition and hydration are an integral part of good health and well-being, delivering well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks to residents every day.

Since my mother was discharged from QEQM hospital, (having spent a month there) to a 28 day assessment bed at St Winifeds in Deal, they have gone beyond in ensuring both her and the family have felt welcome at every stage. This has been and continues to be a very challenging time for us. Having only been admitted a week ago, we were disappointed for her to be spending her birthday (15th Oct) in the care home. However, for the care home chef and wonderful staff to bake a birthday cake, which even considered the fact that she's diabetic, then bring this cake to her in her room, with all staff assembled singing happy birthday, was quite simply humbling. Their care and consideration, empathy and understanding has not only been extended to mum but to her family too. They have made this not only bearable but provided us with a rare moment of joy amongst what is essentially a difficult time. I cannot thank you all enough.

Entertainment is always good ! Today was a fabulous BBQ party in the garden enjoyed by all clients and family & friends . Live music and finished with ice cream.

We joined in with the BBQ when visiting our neighbour. We were so impressed with the efforts and friendliness that all the staff showed. The whole building was so clean and secure, a real credit to all who work there.

Having worked in various roles in residential Care Homes from the age of 16, Tracy’s career changed direction when she decided to become a Trainer and achieved a degree in Education. Tracy then worked as a Lecturer in Health and Social Care and Early Years, helping people begin or progress their nursing or care careers. Passionate about making a difference, Tracy enjoys helping her teams develop their skills. She works to ensure comforting environments and a superior person-centred care provision for all our residents.

Wendy has worked at St Winifred's Care Centre since 1985; she was a part of the team when Nellsar bought the Care Home in 1999; "I started my journey as a Carer and soon worked my way up to a Senior Carer. I then became head of our St Andrews Unit and am now Head of Residential which I am very proud of."
Wendy has gained a lot of qualifications since working for Nellsar; "I have completed my NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care. I have also completed a lot of training for Dementia and End-of-life Care, to name a few, which has been vital to improving my knowledge and understanding of our residents' needs."
Taking great pride in her role, Wendy ensures our residents are provided with the highest level of care – "We really are a family unit." And she cites her biggest accomplishment as coming runner-up in the Kent Care Awards where her contribution to care was acknowledged.
