If there is ever a health concern or other problem, I am always promptly contacted with details of the issue, what is being done and if I have any comments myself. This month, saw Mother celebrating her 90th birthday, and despite being very busy, all the wonderful staff went beyond expectations to make this a special day for us all.

I am always made welcome with a cheerful smile and any questions answered and concerns rectified. It is a lovely arrival and hearing happy singing. Also, there are never any bad smells, always fresh smelling.

The staff were so kind to my father-in-law as he was at the end of his life. They kept him comfortable and pain-free. They also really looked after my mother-in-law when she visited, showing such care and compassion. We could not have asked for more in such sad circumstances.

They are looking after him very well and keeping him safe, making sure he doesn't fall. The nursing staff are knowledgeable and proactive in treating infections early, to prevent hospital stays.

My mother has been a resident at St Winifred's since mid-July 2023 where she was sent directly from a hospital stay when it sadly became clear she could no longer cope at home. It has been a great relief to our family to know that she is cared for and safe in her new environment. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the dedicated and caring staff I have encountered every day. When shopping for a home, I was advised to look out for how the staff engage, well on every point they have met and at times surpassed our expectations. The nurses and carers are amazing and really understand how to work with challenging dementia patients. Of course not every day is perfect and whenever I have had a concern, the manager and/or liaison officer have listened and heard me. I know it's safe to let them know if something isn't quite right on the odd occasion and they will get to the bottom of it and fix it. We feel fortunate that we found St Winifred's.

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback which we will share with the staff. We are constantly reviewing our service and wonder if you have any suggestions on how we could improve your mother's activities experience. My parents came to live here in March and a suitable room was found for them to share. My father recently died and the staff were extremely kind and caring to him and my mum. I was particularly pleased that two members of staff were able to assist my mother to dad's funeral in a wheelchair using the minibus. This enabled her to go to the church, the burial and the wake and meet old friends. Wonderful.

It’s a difficult decision when putting a relative in for respite, you worry if they will be happy and cared for. From the moment I spoke to the first member of staff on the phone, I felt comforted.
My father has Alzheimer’s and dementia and does need nursing care. They invited us over for a visit and asked me to take Dad. It was such a lovely welcome. The clients seemed very happy.
All staff seemed so friendly, some were sitting in the rest room doing activities.
The restaurant (their own eating area) was set so beautifully and all home-cooked food! It’s the little things.
His room was very clean and I explained that he liked looking out the window. They immediately changed the room around and got the chair by the window.

All the staff we came across were extremely kind and caring, with the most welcoming smiles and they seemed so caring it was a pleasure to meet you all. My dad has had three weeks respite. He was so happy and that’s all I needed. Dad will definitely be back. Thank you.

I am so happy that your dad's respite stay was comfortable and that it helped you feel reassured with the difficult decisions you had to make. We definitely hope to see you all again soon, when the need arises.
Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback, as it will certainly help other people who will also be nervous of making the same decisions.

Take care.

The staff at St Winifreds have made a massive difference to my dad's well-being. He was barely able to walk when he arrived; he now walks unaided, his skin integrity was poor, and it is now better than ever; this is a massively person-centred home. It is very clean and tidy, and the food and activities are excellent.

My mother always appears to be happy, comfortable and clean. All the staff are extremely friendly and informative and they maintain regular contact via email or telephone. Recently, my mother had to swap rooms, but the staff ensured that all her personal items and decorative possessions (pictures and ornaments) were equally transferred to the new room.

My Mum has been at St Winifeds for nearly two years. The care has always been good but in recent months the atmosphere has vastly improved and Mum seems very happy. Special mention for the activities team who make sure there's always something going on. Also to resident family liaison - contact is easy and all concerns are dealt with sympathetically, efficiently and with humour.

My experience of St Winifreds, both residential and nursing, has been an extremely positive one. Their care and going the extra mile have been heartwarming. At first, I was very upset, as it was not my choice for him to be sent there, but as it happens, the Care Centre was the best place for him. I can not tell you how much I appreciate the kindness and support the staff and carers gave not only to my husband and me but my family. St Winifreds is a caring and loving home for anyone who is fortunate to be placed there. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. A wonderful home.
