Trying to arrange care for my sister from 500 miles away was not easy. St W's and the management team made it an experience that was reassuring and effective. Since initial respite care my sister has settled in to full residency with success, she feel safe, secure and care for my daily phone calls to my sister reveal a staff and care team that are genuine and personable- my sister's opinion and delight.

Thank you, you really did have a challenge making such important decisions from such a distance. I am delighted that the team supported you well and even more delighted that your sister has settled in and become an important new member to our Nellsar family.

My Mum has been at St Winifred's since January. She has dementia and is bed-bound, but since day one, the staff have done everything they can to make life for her as good as it can be. They are always very cheery, caring and helpful and open to suggestions from us.

There are so many activities on offer for the residents, and despite my Mum's difficulties, they try to include her in as much as possible. I am so grateful for her care at St Winifred's and would recommend it to anyone.

We live in California and this was the first time we saw my grandma at St Winifreds. It seems that she is exceptionally well taken care of. Wehn we visit she is out of her room, sitting in the sun. She is regularly offered snacks and refreshments. The staff go above and beyond to ensure she is comfortable and happy. Furthermore, they have made our visits with her so happy and welcomed us into the home too. We really appreciate it!

The summer BBQ in June was a wonderful afternoon, unfortunately dad couldn't attend as he is bed bound but he still enjoyed the wonderful food on offer. Mum and I had a lovely time in the sunny garden, the chefs and staff done an amazing job with the food on offer, there was even an icecream van for a lovely 99, everyone was well fed and watered with a glass or two of lovely Pimm's there was also live music for a singalong. A big Thankyou to all staff who worked so hard to give the residents a beautiful afternoon

We were struggling as a family to provide sufficient care and support as Mum's mental capacity deteriorated.

Her admission to St Winifreds has taken away a lot of stress for all concerned. After 4 weeks Mum is still finding it difficult to adapt to her new living arrangements but we continue to hope that she will settle down soon!

Reply from Alison Ruddock, Operations & Compliance Manager at St Winifreds Care Centre

Following a very difficult and stressful period of time, we were fortunate to find a room available in St Winifreds. All the staff have been so kind and caring which has played a major role in helping me to quickly settle in and get used to the routines and all that is available to me. I can't emphasize enough how much myself and my family needed this.

My room is like a bedroom at home and is such a massive improvement to a room in a hospital. I do not mean to criticise the hospitals, as they have a different role to play.

I thought St Winifreds was the best home I had seen (being an ex-carer) they bent over backward. The care they go to to look after my husband was brilliant. I could not ask for better service. Just excellent for everything.

Thank you so much for leaving your review. As an ex-carer, you will know only too well that staff do not always get the appreciation they deserve so this is a welcome tribute. My mum was a resident of St Winifreds Care Centre for a couple of months. She arrived not very enthusiastic but soon settled in and enjoyed the social element of this lovely home. Her care was outstanding. She enjoyed a very varied menu with the food fresh on site. Sadly Mum passed and she was treated with care and dignity. I can't thank St Winifred's carers and staff enough.

On a visit to see family members today, the whole experience was wonderful. I left my mother sitting in the car nearby while I went to see if I could park there. I met a young carer outside who couldn't have been more helpful and took me to the office where the charming lady in admin sorted me out. We had a lovely time with our family, who were obviously happy and well cared for in a very nice double room. We had a great time catching up and hope to go back in a couple of weeks.

My mum was a resident from December 2022 until she passed in June 2024. The care she received was second to none. The staff took the time to get to know Mum and she was more than just a resident. Mum loved the activities, always having freshly painted nails, knitting, singing and quizzes. The end-of-life care they provided was incredible. They were kind, compassionate and so gentle with Mum and us as a family. We camped out there for 4 days and they made us meals, washed our clothes and provided towels for a shower. Nothing was too much trouble. The home itself is clean and secure and the food always smells delicious. You won't find a better home or staff to take care of your loved ones. They treat them like family.
