We found Abbotsleigh by chance when my wife was discharged there from hospital. We had intended to move her to a home closer to where we live, but our experience of Abbotsleigh has been so good that she is now a permanent resident. The building is in a country setting and is light and airy, the staff
could not be more friendly, helpful and attentive to her needs and the food is excellent. We have complete confidence that she is well cared for.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Registered Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much for your kind review. We're happy to hear that you have such confidence in the care we provide. Your comments about our team, the setting, and the food mean a great deal to us and will be shared with everyone at Abbotsleigh.

My mum stayed at Abbotsleigh after a long hospital stay and needed a period of assessment before going home. The staff were all very friendly and supportive and always tried to help the family with any queries. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and informed of mum's progress. It was
helpful that she could also access a physio and hairdresser whilst a resident.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Registered Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted to hear that your mum's stay at Abbotsleigh was such a positive experience during her recovery following hospital treatment.
We were so pleased that your mum was able to return home and, while we wished her well, we must admit that we are all missing her already, especially her long chats and positive energy, which brought so much warmth to the home.
Your kind words will be shared with all of our staff, who will truly appreciate your feedback and recognition. Thank you once again for taking the time to leave such thoughtful comments.

I have been staying at Abbotsleigh Care Home for the past 3 months. When I first arrived here my mobility and balance were poor. I lacked confidence and was very anxious and stressed. During my stay here I have been shown nothing but kindness and support from all members of staff. Food on the while
is good but not always to my taste. They have a lovely garden with large seating area which is used a lot in warmer weather. My stay here has given me time and space to reflect and reassess my life and priorities and confidence to return back home.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Registered Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much, for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are so pleased to hear that you felt supported and cared for during your stay at Abbotsleigh, and that your confidence grew over time. It was a pleasure to have you with us. We wish you all the very best now that you are back home, and hope the future brings you happiness, health, and continued confidence.

I can't thank the staff enough, especially Sreeja, for looking after mum so well. Mum was on a 3 bed pathway for respite and rehabilitation after a 6 week stay in hospital. Unfortunately, mum's health took a nosedive and she declined rapidly and in less than two weeks of her stay, she passed away.

The managers and nurses were always extremely helpful and wonderfully caring, not just towards mum but towards me and my family too.
Abbotsleigh itself is set in a beautifully peaceful rural location surrounded by trees, flora and fauna. A wonderful place.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Operations and Compliance Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. We are truly sorry for your loss, but it means a great deal to know your mum was cared for with compassion and dignity during her time with us. I will be sure to pass on your special thanks to Sreeja and the team. Our thoughts remain with you and your family.

My mother stayed at Abbotsleigh after a spell in hospital on a 3 bed pathway and then for respite care. The care they provided at the home was nothing short of excellent. The managers and the nurses were extremely communicative whenever there was a health issue and the care stuff themselves were so
lovely with mum, warm and fun and extremely attentive. The setting is rural and peaceful and they have a gorgeous garden with chickens running around. We couldnt have been happier that this gorgeous home provided for our mum in the time she was here. A gem of a care home!

It was a pleasure to care for your mother, and she and you as family will be very much missed by our whole team. I'm so glad you felt supported and well informed during her stay, and that our staff were able to provide the warmth and attention we always strive for.
We're pleased you enjoyed the peaceful setting and gardens, and we would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back for a visit - you'll always be very welcome here.
Thank you again for trusting us with your mother's care. We send our very best wishes to you and your family.

My mother passed on 3rd September this year having been a resident of Abbotsleigh for very nearly 3 years. She was looked after wonderfully well by all the staff and carers. Despite being confused through dementia she didn't always remember peoples names but she always told me she was well looked after.

My

desire was always for her to be somewhere she was safe & comfortable, I think we were lucky she went to Abbotsleigh. In addition to my mum being well looked after I would like to recognise how well I personally was treated by all the staff at Abbotsleigh, I was always made to feel welcome, kept fully advised of what was going on at both the home and with mother. I will obviously miss my mother, but I will also miss seeing the team at Abbotsleigh.

Thank you for the marvellous job you have done and made the last 3 years of my mother's life better for all concerned.

Reply from Alina Abagiu, Registered Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much for your kind words, Alan. It means a great deal to know that you also felt supported and welcomed. We will miss seeing you too, and send our deepest condolences.

Well what can I say, my dad has been a resident at Abbotsleigh for nearly 8 years and the care he has received has been amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful and treat him with such respect, he is well looked after and if he has been poorly they have been on top of getting doctors out and medication
started. They also are great with us as a family aswell keeping us up to date on anything we need to know. I have no hesitation in recommending Abbotsleigh to anyone from the experience we have received.

After a spell in hospital, my sister's dementia necessitated going into care, which was quite a shock as, at that point, I wanted her to come home. She was taken to Abbotsleigh Care Centre. Over time, she settled in and her usual happy personality returned. I can't speak highly enough of all the staff
involved in her care and how the home is run. She seems very happy, she is well cared for and is safe. Her day to day life is much fuller than it would have been had she returned home. The outside space is lovely, and they can feed the chickens. There is plenty of room for people to sit, and we recently had a BBQ and strawberries and cream.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Registered Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much for your kind words. My husband has been at Abbotsleigh now for 18 months and settled in very quickly with the care of the staff who were very attentive to his needs. They always address him by name and try to engage him when they can which is not east as he is very tired and sleepy. His weight has stabilised since being
there although he is very thin, but the staff try to move him regularly to avoid bedsores. He is in his chair in the coffee room every 2-3 days which he enjoys with singers coming in, organised by the entertainment team.

The staff are really lovely. They smile and have so much patience. The activities are so creative. I am amazed at how inventive the entertainment are. The staff have such good ideas. The grounds are beautiful. It's lovely to have tea and coffee facilities for guests in reception, it means you can relax
with a coffee and sit in the comfortable armchair whilst visiting your relative in their room. We were so delighted to find a vacancy at Abbotsleigh at the time we needed it. Dad calls it "his home" now.

Thankyou to all of the staff, manager and chef! The celebration you put on for my dad's Diamond wedding anniversary was simply stunning. The little touches such as getting and helping him to sign a card to my mum was above and beyond.

My father has been living at Abbotsleigh for 18 months and is very contented there. As a family we have been so happy with the care he has received and the friendly, caring staff who always do more than expected. As an example, the staff realised recently it was my parents' wedding anniversary and
helped dad, who has long term dementia, to sign an anniversary card for my mum which was such a lovely touch. There are always activities planned and dad also seems to enjoy the food immensely! We are so relieved that we found dad such a cheerful and caring place to live.

My Aunt has been resident since mid-March 2025, having had a 6 month stay at Staplehurst Manor after a 2 week stay at Pembury Hospital after breaking her hip in a fall at home at the end of August 2024. I am very happy with almost every aspect of my aunt's care - the single aspect, which has nothing
to do with Abbotsleigh, is the haphazard provision of weekly GP visits after a change in management/ownership at the Staplehurst Health Centre. Communications (whether phone or email) with the Health Centre are similarly frustrating. Abbotsleigh's staff are extremely pro-active, very caring and friendly, and very good at communicating with me as my Aunt's NOK about all aspects of her physical health and mental state.
Reply from Alina Abagiu, Registered Manager at Abbotsleigh Care CentreThank you so much for your kind words, Andrew. We're really pleased to hear you're happy with the care your aunt is receiving at Abbotsleigh. Our team works hard to ensure residents feel safe and supported, and it's lovely to know that communication has been clear and helpful. I'll be sure to share your feedback with the staff, they'll really appreciate hearing it. We also understand the challenges with the local surgery and truly appreciate your patience and understanding in that area. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's ever anything you need. Thank you once again for your positive review.

Mum has been at Abbotsleigh Care Centre for eleven months after a one-month stay at Maidstone Hospital. Abbotsleigh is set in a lovely quiet area in the countryside, you often see rabbits running around in the garden.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, despite my mum being non-verbal, they
all still sit and chat with her and let her join in all the many activities they have going on daily.
Not only do the staff look after mum they go out of their way to talk to me too, they treat me and any other visitors with the same love and care they do my mum.

My mother-in-law left the hospital to live at Abbotsleigh Care Home in 2023.
Initially, she took a while to settle in, but the kindness and willingness of the staff to help her in that process was a great help.
They took the time to get to know her and all her wonderful years of life; her culture
and her history.
Now, two years on, she speaks highly of the respectful care she receives. She enjoys the garden and bird life around her, and the innovative arts, crafts and trips offered.

People say that there is no place likes home. Well, I say there is no place like this home. Abbotsleigh Care Centre is what I dreamed of when looking for a safety, comfortable ad caring place for my mum to end her days. I simply cannot thank the staff enough for the care she received during her 18-month

My family was always treated kindly and comfort and reassurance were always present. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the dedication and professionalism of the staff.
