The care my brother received since he has been at Meyer House over the last 14 months has been amazing. The staff are so caring and attentive. They made him laugh and smile so much. Sadly he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in May 2026, they have been so supportive to me and our family his last two weeks he started to deteriorate and the care still remained exemplary and they was with him on his passing. Cant thank them enough
Our sincerest condolences on the loss of your Brother, our thoughts are with you and your family. Your thanks and praise at this time of grief is truly meaningful and I am so grateful to you for sharing your experience of the care your Brother, and you as a family received.
My father lived at Meyer House care home for over five years, and we are incredibly grateful for the kindness and respect he was shown.
Although he became bedbound and preferred the comfort of his own room, the activity staff went above and beyond to ensure he still felt included and engaged. They took the time to visit him personally, bringing warmth, conversation, laughter and meaningful interaction that truly lifted his spirits. He especially loved the visits from the therapy dog, when staff would spend time with him in his room - these moments meant so much to him. The care team were compassionate and dedicated, but the thoughtfulness of the activity staff made a real difference to his quality of life.
We will always be thankful for the care he received.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Meyer House. The team work hard to support people of all abilities and with differing personal needs, and the activity team especially bring lots of fun and laughter to people. I know the team will be grateful for your feedback and recognition so thank you for sharing it with us.
The care my sister receives at Meyer house is excellent. The staff are friendly, kind and attentive. It is a warm and safe environment, it gives me great peace of mind knowing she is so well looked after and cared for.
Thank you for your kind words-it's wonderful to hear that you feel your sister is safe, cared for, and supported at Meyer House. We truly appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team, who are dedicated to providing a warm and attentive environment for all residents.
On arrival staff welcoming and happy. They always engage with visitors and residents. Home lovely and clean and food smelt lovely as left just before lunch. My brother is very well attended to and staff very approachable. Lots of activities planned which is good for residents. He loved the pony visit!
Thank you for your review and I am glad you and your Brother are happy at Meyer House. It is always lovely to receive positive opinions of the service and I know the team will pleased to read this too, thank you for taking the time to do this.
Overall the majority of staff are polite, caring, and show an interest in those they provide support to. On a negative side, there are occasions when I arrive and waiting at the door I can see care staff sitting in the lounge on their mobile phone at weekends or evenings and don't acknowledge those at the door
Thank you for your feedback which allows us to work on areas we need to improve. As you know we use an electronic care planning system via mobile phone devices and the team document via these handsets many times throughout the day. We will speak with the team to be more vigilant when the door bell...

Thank you for your review of Meyer House, it is always lovely to have positive reviews and we are glad your Mum is enjoying the home.
During my daily visits to the home, I was always welcomed as I arrived by the receptionist and had interaction with all the staff from the cleaner to the manager and can think of no negatives. All engaged in conversation and appeared content working there.
Glad to hear you and your Mum had a positive experience at Meyer House! Thank you for your lovely feedback and we hope to see you both again if the need arises.
Mum has been very well cared for by the staff in this home. It's lovely and clean and her laundry is spotless. She has plenty of choice with her food and if there is nothing on the menu she fancy's she can choose something else. There are fun activities with friendly staff on hand and sometimes trips out. Mum has been supported during her stay as well as us, her family.
Meyer House is a home from home and we appreciate your feedback of the care and cleanliness of our home. There is nothing better than spotless laundry and our teams work hard to ensure great standards. So pleased that you are happy with the home, the food and the friendliness. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review of your positive experiences, we will share with the team.
Our friend of 50 years was resident at Meyer House for 3 and a half years, bedridden all that time and cared for with love and dignity. During all our visits always fresh and clean and looking content with a rewarding smile. We think it's testimony she survived so long to the wonderful care of the staff. Dedication money can't buy.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, especially at this time of loss. I will share this review with the care team who I know will grateful for the recognition of their care and kindness.
Illness is always dealt with promptly and professionally which is comforting and they do know his little ways. To
Thank you for your review and I completely agree with you, training is so very important for our teams and we have a continuous training plan to help support the knowledge and practice of caring for all people including those living with a Dementia. Getting to know people is vital and understanding...
Mum has settled in very well. She likes the staff, including the cleaners. Everyone says hello or waves to her as they pass, and she responds with a smile or a wave back. I personally cannot fault anything, and mum seems very happy in herself.
So pleased to hear your Mum has settled in so well and lovely to know that the smiles and waves are so well received. Thank you for such a positive review which I know the staff will be pleased to read.
The home is in good condition and the staff are friendly, they seem to be attentive and are always about. They set out daily events, which most take an interest. Bingo, singing and special events (entertainers) the food is ok and seems to be what is wanted. It would be good to see a more varied menu, with residents being encouraged to try different things. Residents teeth condition should be taken into account.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service and for your views of the staff team. I will share your comments of food and catering with our Head Chef, who has not been with us that long, but is very keen to create menu's and dishes that include all tastes and nutrition requirements and I...
From our initial enquiry to my dad coming to stay here everyone has been so helpful, friendly and supportive to my dad and to his family and friends. Dad is being very well cared for and everyone is very attentive to his needs. Thank you so much.

Thank you for taking time to leave us a review, these are important in helping us shape and improve our service, and for the team to hear feedback from all people who use, visit and work within our home.
Mum was transferred to Meyer House after a period in hospital. The entire team have been brilliant, looking after Mum and importantly supporting my Dad, who had been trying to cope at home for far too long.
Thanks for your review and I am pleased to hear both your Mum and Dad are being supported. I have to agree the team at Meyer House are brilliant and I know they will appreciate your feedback.
My father needed urgent respite and the home was extremely helpful. Within days my father was settled in a lovely room with all the care he needed. The staff are amazing, the food delicious and the home is so clean. My father really enjoyed his stay.
Thank you so much for such positive feedback. We are delighted to have helped you and your father and we welcome the opportunity to do so again in the future should the need arise.Kind regards
Mum has lived at Meyer for almost 3 and ½ years. During that time her Care has been exceptional. The last few weeks of her life was hard for us as a family. However every member of staff were so incredibly kind. They not only looked after mum brilliantly and kept her comfortable, they looked after Us. There are too many to name but a Special Shout out to two staff memebrs who were amazing!

Thank you to all the amazing staff who work there. We are very grateful to you all.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give such excellent feedback. We appreciate you entrusting your mum to Meyer House and I am so delighted that she found comfort in the last chapter of her life. It was a privilege to care for her and I will pass on your review to the staff and thank them for making such a difference.
We are eternally grateful for the dignity and love given to her during her end-of-life stay, and we know she was looked after, kept pain-free, included in the activities when she felt able, and ultimately loved by all the staff.
Thank you all so much.
Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience at Meyer House. Gives me peace of mind to know that the team from Meyer House did everything they could to care for your mum, treating her with dignity and love the way she deserved it. We are very sorry for your loss, and we will always remember her beautiful soul.
My mother was brought from hospital to Meyer house on 18.6.24 for end-of-life care. When I visited that day, I was very impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. My mum's room was bright and airy. I was kept up to date about my mum's condition. Unfortunately due to my mum being unable to drink or eat, she passed away three days later on 21.6.2024. I was informed immediately about Mum's passing. Many thanks to all the staff who were involved in the care of my mum.
We are extremely happy with all aspects of Meyer House. The care is the highest standard and it is a happy and friendly place. My mum is very happy.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful feedback review. I am so pleased we are providing the service that your mum deserves. If you could suggest how we could improve the rooms we would be very grateful. Kind regards.

Meet the Team (3)

"I started working at Meyer House in September 2019 when I was appointed as a Deputy Manager, and was proudly promoted to Home Manager in September 2021. Having started as a Student Nurse, I have been working in the Adult Care industry for over 11 years and I've developed and grown professionally throughout that time.
As a leading care provider, I have found Nellsar that takes the professional growth and development of every member of their staff very seriously. Since I joined Nellsar, I have had the opportunity to undertake many professional and learning developments required for my clinical development, including NVQ Level 5, ACAS Conducting Investigations, Skills For Care (Well Led Course), Practice Assessor’s Course, Pressure Ulcer training, Grey Matter training and Clinical Skills for Care.
Being a Nurse, I am able to know my residents well and cater to their needs, which brings me immense joy. When I am able to bring a ray of hope, or a smile to my residents and their families' faces, that’s the reward for me. Being a Nurse in India, we don’t get as many opportunities for learning and development, or as much support. Here, at Meyer House, I have been able to see and experience a variety of career opportunities and progression; I have been able to grow in my Career and explore different job roles.
When I first joined, most of our notes and documentation was paper based and slowly we have transitioned over to the digital care planning tool, Nourish. This means we have been able to cater to the different nursing needs of our residents in a more efficient way. We always strive to provide the best care and support for our residents and their families, inviting their input and including other Team members.
I have an excellent team at Meyer House whose prime focus is always our residents, who are the heart of our Home. My Senior Management team is very supportive and approachable. When I took over as Manager, I was overwhelmed by the care and support extended to me – everyone made me feel at ease and were always ready to guide me.
The best part about working with and leading a Care Home team is knowing that I am able to make a difference to a person's life and I am one of the reasons my residents are smiling. We at Meyer House are a big happy family, who always stand up for each other and offer the support we need."

"My name is Jibila Babu and I've been working as a Registered Nurse at Meyer House since May 2021. I have received continuous training since I joined the Home, including Grey Matter training, Fire and Safety training, MUST, Wound Care and other basic clinical skills training.
Working at Meyer House is really a pleasure, with supportive colleagues and care staff. One of the most positive changes I've witnessed in recent times is the adoption of the digital care planning tool – Nourish. Moving everything online not only saves paper and time, it means our care services and notes for our residents are more integrated.
The whole team, including the manager, is very supportive and always approachable. They have provided a tension-free, comfortable working environment and I love being part of such a leading Care Home team. I feel positively motivated and look forward to my future career at Meyer House."

“What I most enjoy about my job is seeing the residents happy and content. I love making a difference to their lives and it's wonderful to see them enjoying entertainment and interacting with other residents. I go home at the end of the day knowing I have made a difference and had an impact on others. The best thing about working as part of a team here at Meyer House is that you have always got someone to ask for advice and support you in what you are unsure about.
I joined Meyer House in 2014 and my current role is Senior Team Leader. Previously, I have worked as Team Leader, Medication Handout, Hairdresser, and I have helped out in the Laundry and the Kitchen at times too. I have seen many positive changes throughout my time here including the use of Nourish – an online care planning technology – which has made a big difference to the way we work.
I feel proud of my professional achievements. I achieved my NVQ Level 2 and 3, and love learning new things every day while working. I am currently waiting to start my NVQ Level 5 and I am really looking forward to doing it and learning new things.
In addition to my NVQs, I have completed all the mandatory training plus Health and Safety, Fire Awareness and Fire Marshal, COVID-19, Safe Guarding, Mental Health, GDPR, Palliative Care and End Of Life, and Bereavement. I look forward to more training for myself and my team in the future, including Train the Trainer; knowledge is the key to empowering staff to progress in their development.
Our team is very supportive and always willing to listen and help when they can – willing to listen to any concerns we may have and help as much as they can. Our Manager has always had an open door policy and will always meet your needs and concerns as much as she can. Together, we are putting the care back into caring; we work as part of a family as well as a team."
