Friendly staff, nice people, excellent service, I'm very happy with their care, very recommended my mum is comfortable and eating more and drinking more, which is a relief but her ankle is a concern with the blisters but I did see the nurse for certain cream to use but other than that everything is excellent.
I am delighted that you feel able to give such positive feedback of the service your mum is receiving and that your medical concerns have been discussed with the nurses for onward review and attention. Do not hesitate in asking for more information regarding her skin management if you need to ensure you are aware of the care plan in place. Kind regards.
Dad is happy and well looked after however some of the staff are a bit 'out of tune' to the fact that we are visiting. For example, when he is taken upstairs to the toilet he is often gone for a very long time also on several occasions he has been brought back down and taken to the dining room but the staff member has failed to tell us he is back from the loo and we are left sitting waiting. This encroaches on our precious visiting time. The kitchen staff are very good and know what Dad likes to eat and on my most recent visit, one of the staff was really good and very attentive helping Dad to eat. Thank you Meyer House for taking good care of my Dad.
Thank you for your feedback and I note your frustrations when your visiting time is reduced through what would appear to be a lack of communication. We will ensure this will be addressed with the team promptly. Kind regards Alison
We are satisfied with Dad's overall care. However, sometimes Dad has to wait a long time to be taken to the toilet which is quite distressing for him. We have also found nostalgic ornaments and photo frames have been broken and placed in a drawer. The breakages have never been reported by the staff. We have raised this with the deputy manager by email but to date, we haven't received a response. It's upsetting that Dad's treasured possessions are not shown due respect. However, the staff are lovely, especially the entertainment staff and a number of the long-term care staff are exceptional. Dad always enjoys the food.
Many thanks for your feedback. I have investigated your concerns alongside another family member's similar feedback and I can only apologise for the upset this has caused. An urgent staff meeting was held to share the feedback and plan improvements with special emphasis on how to manage the...
My father-in-law's room is bad. His chair was very dirty stains with stale food. Things broken or missing. Waits a long time to be taken to the toilet, found him in bed when he should be up.
Thank you for your feedback. I have investigated the circumstances that you raised and I am aware that the manager has contacted the family and responded in writing explaining the steps she has taken to address your concerns. This is far from the usual feedback we get and I would welcome the...
I cannot express more how impressed I am with the care and respect you have shown my mother-in-law. She is so happy at your care centre. I have found the place to be clean and welcoming. The staff couldn't be kinder and friendlier. Ten out of ten.
Take care.
Excellent care.
Many thanks for taking the time to give us feedback because it helps us focus our efforts on improving our service. Suggestions of how we could improve the Food/drink, Activities and Facilities would be greatly appreciated. I will ensure the staff are made aware of the positive feedback.
Kind regards.
My mum arrived at Meer House Care Centre last Thursday and has been made very welcome. The staff are lovely, and Mum has a smile back on her face for the first time in ages. Thank you.
Kind regards and many thanks.
The experience for myself and my father so far has been welcoming, caring and very understanding. I cannot believe how quickly my father has settled into Meyer House Care Centre, this can only be because of the staff's positivity and patience with my father. He is able to be himself and continue with using his independent skills. He has enjoyed the company of the many lovely, caring staff. He enjoys the food cooked every day and I have had lunch with him here. It was very nice. I will be having more lunch dates.
Kind regards,
Alison.
My dad was at Meyer House for over a year and a half via palliative care. He improved amazingly whilst there due to the care and treatment her received. The last few months/weeks of his life, the nursing staff made him very comfortable and free of pain. They all went into him and chatted to him as he was bed-bound. I can't express my gratitude to everyone there for their kindness, help and care. He passed away very peacefully in the end, but his life there was wonderful and happy right to the end.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Your dad was a lovely person, and he will be missed by all of the staff. Gives me a lot of comfort knowing that you feel that he was cared for with empathy and love.
Every time I come to the home, I am made to feel very welcome by all. I always comment on the displays and the work the entertainment crew do, they never leave anyone out and they do an amazing job keeping spirits high. I hope if I or my parents need to go into a care home, I would choose Meyer House above any other. I work in a pharmacy and when people come in whose loved ones need care, I recommend Meyer House. Can't praise the team enough.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Meyer House. I am really glad that you feel welcomed at Meyer House during the visits. Your opinion means a lot to all the team.
My mother was in Meyer House for just over two years. Mum was traumatised when arriving but the outstanding care she was given brought her back to us. All the staff at Meyer House were kind, thoughtful and loving which is all we could ask for. Mum greatly enjoyed all the activities and the effort the staff put into these events was amazing, be it a small or a large event. When mum was on end-of-life care there was nothing too small or too big for the carers to attend to for mum. Unfortunately mum passed away but my family would like to thank Meyer House staff for giving us another two years with mum.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to us. I am happy that you feel content with the care received by your Mum at Meyer House. Meyer House is like a big family, and your Mum was part of it. She will be missed.
Mother moved from another home to Meyer House. At first, she was uncooperative and took a while to settle, but now after the dedicated care, perseverance and understanding of the staff, she now seems more settled and contented. She enjoys all the efforts of the activities staff and enjoys great banter with the friendly staff. Mum is not the easiest person to pacify, but Meyer seems to achieve it.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our service at Meyer House. Your Mum is a lovely person, but I do understand that was very difficult for her to move into a new care environment at that time. She needed time to develop trust in the team, and I am really happy to hear that she feels content and heard by the staff.
My mother-in-law arrived at Meyer House Care Centre about a year ago. It was a very difficult time for everyone, especially for a 95-year-old lady. As you can imagine she was very resentful of the move. Hated the home, the staff, but most of all her family. Over the past year due to the dedication fo the staff she has started to get used to the home and started to relax and enjoy herself. She enjoys her food as the kitchen staff have taken time to find her favourite foods. We would like to take time to thank all the staff and management for their support and friendly manner.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. I am really happy that your mother-in-law settled, and the staff supported her during this difficult transition. Your opinion means a lot to us.
Staff are very attentive and look after the needs of residents well. There is always entertainment and interaction with the service users. I've been to some of these and the staff are always fun and get residents involved. Highly recommend.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a positive review. I am really glad to hear that the staff are supporting the residents and organising such amazing events. I will pass your review on to the care team, as I know how much it means to them.
I have been visiting my mum in Meyer House for over two years now. During this time, I have found it to be overall a place where loving care is evident. The staff are always polite, friendly and helpful the majority of the time. Every place has exceptions to the rule, that is life! The activities team are amazing, providing a good variety of things to do, either in a group setting or one-to-one and take an active interest in the residents. I feel very grateful that my mum who is 96 years old is in Meyer House.
Thank you so much for taking time to express your opinion in relation to our care home. I am really glad to hear that your mum is well looked after, and most of the time staff are supportive. Your opinion is very important to us, helping to improve and learn from mistakes.
Whenever we visit unannounced, our resident friend at Meyer House is always in good spirits, happy and looks well cared for. The staff there are kind, helpful and patient and above all, caring. The place is spotlessly clean and tidy too, with stimulating events put on.
Thank you so much for your positive review. Your opinion is very important to us. We are not perfect, but with your help and suggestions, we can improve and make the best for our residents.
My wife's dad was admitted last July. We haven't looked back.
Thank you so much for taking time to review our service. Your opinion is very important to us.
The staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that my mum has stayed well during this period. This was not east at the beginning; she was not eating or drinking very well. They have kept our family well informed. They have treated my mum and our family with compassion and kindness, and during what is a difficult time for everyone.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. This is a difficult time for all of us and I am really glad that you are happy the way how Meyer House Team looked after your Mum. Your opinion is very important to us.
I would like to say I am well satisfied for the way my relative is being cared for at Mayer House. I am informed by the manager and staff when I phone up what is happening to him and others during the shutdown. Everybody has been tested for Covid-19 and the tests have come back negative.
Thank you so much for taking time to review Meyer House. You opinion is very important to us and I am really glad that you are happy with the care we provide.
Although I haven't been able to visit my mother because of lockdown, myself and other members of our family have been able to do video calls to her, thanks to the staff, which she really enjoys. As a family, we are all very impressed with the management and staff for keeping Covid-19 out of Meyer House, therefore keeping our loved ones safe.
Thank you so much for your positive review. We are living in a difficult time, but I am pleased that the Meyer House Team supported your loved one and your family. Your opinion is very important to us.

Meet the Team (3)

"I started working at Meyer House in September 2019 when I was appointed as a Deputy Manager, and was proudly promoted to Home Manager in September 2021. Having started as a Student Nurse, I have been working in the Adult Care industry for over 11 years and I've developed and grown professionally throughout that time.
As a leading care provider, I have found Nellsar that takes the professional growth and development of every member of their staff very seriously. Since I joined Nellsar, I have had the opportunity to undertake many professional and learning developments required for my clinical development, including NVQ Level 5, ACAS Conducting Investigations, Skills For Care (Well Led Course), Practice Assessor’s Course, Pressure Ulcer training, Grey Matter training and Clinical Skills for Care.
Being a Nurse, I am able to know my residents well and cater to their needs, which brings me immense joy. When I am able to bring a ray of hope, or a smile to my residents and their families' faces, that’s the reward for me. Being a Nurse in India, we don’t get as many opportunities for learning and development, or as much support. Here, at Meyer House, I have been able to see and experience a variety of career opportunities and progression; I have been able to grow in my Career and explore different job roles.
When I first joined, most of our notes and documentation was paper based and slowly we have transitioned over to the digital care planning tool, Nourish. This means we have been able to cater to the different nursing needs of our residents in a more efficient way. We always strive to provide the best care and support for our residents and their families, inviting their input and including other Team members.
I have an excellent team at Meyer House whose prime focus is always our residents, who are the heart of our Home. My Senior Management team is very supportive and approachable. When I took over as Manager, I was overwhelmed by the care and support extended to me – everyone made me feel at ease and were always ready to guide me.
The best part about working with and leading a Care Home team is knowing that I am able to make a difference to a person's life and I am one of the reasons my residents are smiling. We at Meyer House are a big happy family, who always stand up for each other and offer the support we need."

"My name is Jibila Babu and I've been working as a Registered Nurse at Meyer House since May 2021. I have received continuous training since I joined the Home, including Grey Matter training, Fire and Safety training, MUST, Wound Care and other basic clinical skills training.
Working at Meyer House is really a pleasure, with supportive colleagues and care staff. One of the most positive changes I've witnessed in recent times is the adoption of the digital care planning tool – Nourish. Moving everything online not only saves paper and time, it means our care services and notes for our residents are more integrated.
The whole team, including the manager, is very supportive and always approachable. They have provided a tension-free, comfortable working environment and I love being part of such a leading Care Home team. I feel positively motivated and look forward to my future career at Meyer House."

“What I most enjoy about my job is seeing the residents happy and content. I love making a difference to their lives and it's wonderful to see them enjoying entertainment and interacting with other residents. I go home at the end of the day knowing I have made a difference and had an impact on others. The best thing about working as part of a team here at Meyer House is that you have always got someone to ask for advice and support you in what you are unsure about.
I joined Meyer House in 2014 and my current role is Senior Team Leader. Previously, I have worked as Team Leader, Medication Handout, Hairdresser, and I have helped out in the Laundry and the Kitchen at times too. I have seen many positive changes throughout my time here including the use of Nourish – an online care planning technology – which has made a big difference to the way we work.
I feel proud of my professional achievements. I achieved my NVQ Level 2 and 3, and love learning new things every day while working. I am currently waiting to start my NVQ Level 5 and I am really looking forward to doing it and learning new things.
In addition to my NVQs, I have completed all the mandatory training plus Health and Safety, Fire Awareness and Fire Marshal, COVID-19, Safe Guarding, Mental Health, GDPR, Palliative Care and End Of Life, and Bereavement. I look forward to more training for myself and my team in the future, including Train the Trainer; knowledge is the key to empowering staff to progress in their development.
Our team is very supportive and always willing to listen and help when they can – willing to listen to any concerns we may have and help as much as they can. Our Manager has always had an open door policy and will always meet your needs and concerns as much as she can. Together, we are putting the care back into caring; we work as part of a family as well as a team."
