View Full Details of Meyer House Care CentreMy mum has just spent two weeks at Meyer Care home for respite care, both her and I would like to thank all the staff that cared and looked after her during her stay. My mum rated the staff and the food very highly during her stay. During my daily visits to the home, I was always welcomed as I arrived by the receptionist and had interaction with all the staff from the cleaner to the manager and can think of no negatives. All engaged in conversation and appeared content working there.
Mum has been very well cared for by the staff in this home. It's lovely and clean and her laundry is spotless. She has plenty of choice with her food and if there is nothing on the menu she fancy's she can choose something else. There are fun activities with friendly staff on hand and sometimes trips out. Mum has been supported during her stay as well as us, her family.
Our friend of 50 years was resident at Meyer House for 3 and a half years, bedridden all that time and cared for with love and dignity. During all our visits always fresh and clean and looking content with a rewarding smile. We think it's testimony she survived so long to the wonderful care of the staff. Dedication money can't buy.
Overall Dad is happy at this home but as he has Dementia the staff could benefit from additional specialist training for when he and other residents are having a bad day. Illness is always dealt with promptly and professionally which is comforting and they do know his little ways. To
Mum has settled in very well. She likes the staff, including the cleaners. Everyone says hello or waves to her as they pass, and she responds with a smile or a wave back. I personally cannot fault anything, and mum seems very happy in herself.
The home is in good condition and the staff are friendly, they seem to be attentive and are always about. They set out daily events, which most take an interest. Bingo, singing and special events (entertainers) the food is ok and seems to be what is wanted. It would be good to see a more varied menu, with residents being encouraged to try different things. Residents teeth condition should be taken into account.
From our initial enquiry to my dad coming to stay here everyone has been so helpful, friendly and supportive to my dad and to his family and friends. Dad is being very well cared for and everyone is very attentive to his needs. Thank you so much.
Mum was transferred to Meyer House after a period in hospital. The entire team have been brilliant, looking after Mum and importantly supporting my Dad, who had been trying to cope at home for far too long.
My father needed urgent respite and the home was extremely helpful. Within days my father was settled in a lovely room with all the care he needed. The staff are amazing, the food delicious and the home is so clean. My father really enjoyed his stay.
Mum has lived at Meyer for almost 3 and ½ years. During that time her Care has been exceptional. The last few weeks of her life was hard for us as a family. However every member of staff were so incredibly kind. They not only looked after mum brilliantly and kept her comfortable, they looked after Us. There are too many to name but a Special Shout out to two staff memebrs who were amazing!
I want to say a huge big thank you to all the staff at Meyers Care home, who looked after my terminally ill mum. Although mum was only there a short time before she passed, she was looked after so well. Everyone was friendly and couldn't do enough to make mum comfortable, her time there was a real pleasant one. Mum loved the choice of food, and the happy atmosphere the staff created. Thank you to all the amazing staff who work there. We are very grateful to you all.
We would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Meyer House for their love, care and support to my mother/grandma in her final few weeks and days. We are eternally grateful for the dignity and love given to her during her end-of-life stay, and we know she was looked after, kept pain-free, included in the activities when she felt able, and ultimately loved by all the staff. Thank you all so much.
My mother was brought from hospital to Meyer house on 18.6.24 for end-of-life care. When I visited that day, I was very impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. My mum's room was bright and airy. I was kept up to date about my mum's condition. Unfortunately due to my mum being unable to drink or eat, she passed away three days later on 21.6.2024. I was informed immediately about Mum's passing. Many thanks to all the staff who were involved in the care of my mum.
We are extremely happy with all aspects of Meyer House. The care is the highest standard and it is a happy and friendly place. My mum is very happy.
Friendly staff, nice people, excellent service, I'm very happy with their care, very recommended my mum is comfortable and eating more and drinking more, which is a relief but her ankle is a concern with the blisters but I did see the nurse for certain cream to use but other than that everything is excellent.
Dad is happy and well looked after however some of the staff are a bit 'out of tune' to the fact that we are visiting. For example, when he is taken upstairs to the toilet he is often gone for a very long time also on several occasions he has been brought back down and taken to the dining room but the staff member has failed to tell us he is back from the loo and we are left sitting waiting. This encroaches on our precious visiting time. The kitchen staff are very good and know what Dad likes to eat and on my most recent visit, one of the staff was really good and very attentive helping Dad to eat. Thank you Meyer House for taking good care of my Dad.
We are satisfied with Dad's overall care. However, sometimes Dad has to wait a long time to be taken to the toilet which is quite distressing for him. We have also found nostalgic ornaments and photo frames have been broken and placed in a drawer. The breakages have never been reported by the staff. We have raised this with the deputy manager by email but to date, we haven't received a response. It's upsetting that Dad's treasured possessions are not shown due respect. However, the staff are lovely, especially the entertainment staff and a number of the long-term care staff are exceptional. Dad always enjoys the food.
My father-in-law's room is bad. His chair was very dirty stains with stale food. Things broken or missing. Waits a long time to be taken to the toilet, found him in bed when he should be up.
I cannot express more how impressed I am with the care and respect you have shown my mother-in-law. She is so happy at your care centre. I have found the place to be clean and welcoming. The staff couldn't be kinder and friendlier. Ten out of ten.
Excellent care.
