Loose Valley Care Centre is situated near Maidstone in Kent; a beautifully converted former vicarage, sitting in three acres of beautiful, landscaped grounds. Their skilled teams deliver the very best person-centred care and ensure there is attention to detail in the way they offer support to all.

The Home also employs a Physiotherapist to support residents with rehabilitation, including bespoke day care or short-term placements. Physiotherapy services also help with improving peoples’ strength, avoiding or reducing falls, contractures, and improved overall well-being.

Loose Valley has a capacity of up to 29 residents, with single room accommodation. The majority of bedrooms have ensuite facilities. The Home has a pleasant lounge, dining room, a bright and airy conservatory and an onsite hair salon. The extensive secure gardens feature two patio areas with wheelchair access around the perimeter.

The Home is passionate about keeping their residents stimulated and active, through a range of tailored daily activities including music therapy, arts and crafts, seated exercise, pet therapy, gardening, live music and local outings. Using essential oils, they also hold regular Namaste sessions where residents can receive relaxing massage treatments in a calm, tranquil environment, while enjoying delicious fruits, treats and drinks.

One of the first care providers to champion the importance of nutrition for older people and those with Dementia, Nellsar employ a Head of Nutrition and Wellness for their Homes. Loose Valley acknowledges that nutrition and hydration are an integral part of good health and well-being, delivering well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks to residents every day.

We came to the home for the first time to visit a family friend, we were surprised at the cleanliness and warm welcome from the staff, I used to work at a few care homes and they were not up to the standard of Loose Valley, it smelt amazing and we loved the interaction between staff and the ladies we
saw there. I'm a huge animal lover and know they really help people to feel relaxed and at home, so love the cat resident he is peaceful.

After a motorcycle accident in April 2025 I spent 8 weeks in hospital. Owing to a fractured pelvis, at the end of that time I still had limited mobility and it was not feasible for me to go back home, so I was placed at Loose Valley Care Centre.
I was initially very wary of going to a care home, but
I was very pleasantly surprised.
The setting is very pleasant, all my visitors commented on how nice it was there
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They all seem to actually enjoy their job, which is nice to see.
There is a physio who is onsite twice a week.
They don't just look after resident's physical needs, they also arrange activities, such a quizzes, bingo, visiting entertainment and excursions. I went on 3 of the outings and very much enjoyed them.
I spent just over 6 weeks there, until my pelvis had healed sufficiently to allow me to go home.
It was hard to say goodbye when I left.

My Nan was a resident here, for end of life care. All of the staff, Nurses, Care Assistants, Housekeepers, Reception, Kitchen Staff and the manager were simply amazing. They showed so much empathy for the family whilst still having a smile on thier faces. They treated my Nan with so much care and respect.
I'm so glad she was here for her end of life. I can't recommend Loose Valley enough.

From the moment you walk through the door, you are met with smiling faces and a very warm welcome. Nothing is too much bother for any of the staff. Mum has only been in resident since November 2024 but already feels it is her home, she feels safe and is well fed and cared for. If I had had to choose
a home for her, I couldn't have chosen a better one. (She was discharged from hospital to Loose Valley.) I have nothing but praise for the whole team. Thank you for looking after my mum.

Originally, both my parents were in the home. Sadly, my mum passed away a year ago, all the carers and staff were excellent to me and my dad when this happened and my dad has continued to receive excellent care. My dad enjoys all trips out and the family fun-filled environment that's provided.

Placed in Loose Valley Care Centre after being discharged from hospital for bed rest due to no weight bearing on left leg. The home is very nice. All staff day and night are a credit to Loose Valley, nothing is too much for them. Treated with respect and dignity by all.

Our Mother came to live at Loose Valley in February this year. We can credit the staff with 'rescuing' her so we don't feel she would have survived had she remained in her own home. Her personal care is very good and lots of attention is given to her emotional well being too.
Activities and entertainment
feature often and aim to be very inclusive. Mum really enjoys the music and visits from animals/pets. It is very reassuring that we can visit anytime and the staff are so approachable. As a family, we can relax as we know that all aspects of mum's care are being catered for in every way possible. Loose Valley is very much her home now.

The activities for all the residents are excellent, the activities staff go to great lengths to make them enjoyable.

A very good place to be here.
I am not able to think of a better place to be, it feels as if I am in my own home.

After my stepfather at the age of 83 was diagnosed with cancer on top of other complications with 3 months to live, he was allocated a position at Loose Valley Nursing Home for terminal cancer.
The staff from top to bottom were amazing, treating him with dignity and respect.

Loose Valley Care Centre was wonderful for my dad. The staff are respectful, caring, jolly and friendly. The atmosphere is kind and caring. It is a beautiful setting and calm and peaceful. Everything you would want your loved one to have. The nursing team are extremely professional and thoughtful and

As a family, we have been amazed at the improvement in my auntie's quality of life, as well as mental and physical wellbeing since becoming a resident at Loose Valley in the last three months. The manager and her whole team have been absolutely brilliant and to see the change in my auntie, since transferring
from another home, has been nothing short of amazing. My auntie was permanently bedridden before, isolated in a small room with not much more than a television for company. Now, she is dressed every day and taken into the lounge area or conservatory (albeit in a very sophisticated wheelchair) to enjoy activities, entertainment, and the company of other residents and the team at Loose Valley. She is undoubtedly happy, comfortable, and well cared for with respect and dignity. We think Loose Valley is an exceptional care home setting and feel fortunate that our auntie is a resident there now. They should be used as an example to others. With heartfelt thanks to all the team.

My mother was a resident at Loose Valley for the last couple of months of her life and was blessed with great care and kindness. My eternal gratitude to the manager and staff who kept her comfortable and peaceful during such a difficult time. I was made to feel welcome at all times and was kept well-informed.
I was extremely touched that the manager and a staff member were able to come and say goodbye to my mum at her funeral.

Located in a quiet area with excellent transport links to Maidstone and Staplehurst, our Care Home is a beautiful Victorian building combining 'old' character with newly refurbished facilities and many more in progress. We have 31 single rooms in our Care Home – the majority of which have en-suite facilities. Loose Valley is perfect for people who like the intimacy and homely feel of a smaller Care Home."

"I've worked at Loose Valley as Recreation and Well-Being Champion since October 2018, but before that, I worked in the same role at another Nellsar Home – Abbotsleigh. I also used to work as a Kitchen Assistant on Fridays for two years. I am so glad I work for Nellsar as they put everyone first and residents are top priority.


I've seen many positive changes and had opportunities to learn and progress over the years. Namely, my NVQ 2 Activity Leadership Course and the Dementia Care City and Guilds Course. Nellsar is like family and I feel like a valued member of the team; they look after their staff and operate an open door policy when needing to approach the Management Team.


My Manager at Loose Valley listens to my ideas and the whole team works together, supporting each department to make each day special. We pull together for special events and the armchair travel adventure "Around the World with Nellsar Cruises" was a great success throughout the Home. I worked with the Kitchen Team in creating fun themed menus for each destination, and it made me feel appreciated and listened to.


What I most enjoy about my job is the strong sense of teamwork and good communication. I take pride in my job and I'm always up for a challenge. I love being creative and have a passion for arts and crafts – it's where I excel.
