From a carer myself of 20+ years I thought it was going to be very hard to find somewhere that would look after my mum. My honest opinion is that the 2 1/2 years my mum was at Lulworth I was always more than happy that she was in good hands. All the staff were very friendly, patient and polite. I felt like not only was my mum part of the family but I was too. The end of life care also was exceptional. I can not praise everyone enough.

As my mother got older and her health deteriorated the care from the staff was exceptional. Mum passed away this month at the age of 105. I have enjoyed many happy occasions a the home and feel the staff are like family. So from me and my family, Thank you for the care you gave to my mum. When it got close to our mum's end of life they showed a lot of compassion towards myself and my sisters and you could see the love and care they gave her. Over the years that Mum was here, she was very comfortable and very well looked after which gave all the family peace of mind.

My mother-in-law has been a resident in Lulworth House for 2 years, following a stroke which left her unable to stay in her own home. The care she has received at Lulworth is outstanding. It is a medium-sized home, with a real family atmosphere. All the carers have been kindness itself, and have shown Mum genuine affection, treating her with dignity and compassion. My wife and I have forged a close relationship with all the care staff. The leadership is strong, and there is an atmosphere of calm throughout the home. In two years we have found nothing of concern, or cause for complaint, and Mum has been happy here. Several relatives of other patients have said much the same in conversations we have had with them.

Demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment, Jimitha stepped into the role of Deputy Manager in August 2016, where she spent years ensuring the highest standards of daily operations and staff support. Katja has been a valued member of the Lulworth House team since 2005 and has worked in a variety of roles including Carer, Senior Carer, Activities Coordinator and Chef. Her extensive experience within the home has given her a strong understanding of residents' needs and the importance of delivering person-centred care.
As Nourishment and Social Wellness Coordinator, Katja supports residents' nutritional wellbeing by monitoring MUST scores, reviewing nutrition care plans, liaising with Dietitians and Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), and ensuring residents' food preferences and choices are reflected in the menus. She also enjoys supporting residents during mealtimes and running activities such as the home's popular baking club.
Katja works closely with Leni Wood, Head of Nutrition and Wellness for Nellsar Homes, and Adelina Abraham, Residents' Dining Experience Lead for Nellsar Homes, to promote high standards of nutrition, hydration and dining experiences across the home.
One of the aspects of her role that Katja enjoys most is spending time with residents and supporting their wellbeing through meaningful social interaction, choice and personalised support at mealtimes. Karen joined Lulworth House as Business Support Officer in September 2023 and brings over 16 years of experience working in care settings. During her career, she has worked in a variety of roles including Care Assistant, Domestic Assistant, Activities Coordinator, Kitchen Assistant and Cook, giving her a good understanding of the different departments within a care home and the support residents require.
Karen has also gained management experience in a previous role, where she supported a care home as Acting Manager while the service recruited to a vacant Home Manager position. She holds a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification in Health and Social Care.
As Business Support Officer, Karen works closely with the Home Manager and supports the day-to-day administration of the home. She helps maintain open communication with residents, families, colleagues and visiting professionals, ensuring information is shared in a timely and supportive way. Karen also provides administrative support across a wide range of areas to help support the smooth running of the home.
Karen enjoys being part of the Lulworth House team and values the opportunity to support residents, families and colleagues alike. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and young son and has a keen interest in rugby, both watching and playing the sport whenever she gets the opportunity.
