Residents, staff, and the local Fairfield community are warmly invited to a very special evening at Fairfield Manor Care Home in Fairfield, as 90-year-old resident Jean prepares to host her very own ‘Make-A-Wish’ art exhibition.

Taking place on 16th April at 6pm, the one-night exhibition will showcase and celebrate Jean’s lifelong passion for painting, with visitors given the opportunity to view and purchase her artwork. All funds raised will go towards the residents’ comfort fund at the Fairfield care home, helping to enhance the lives of those living at Fairfield Manor.

A Lifelong Passion for Art Jean’s love for painting began when she was a young teenager. Encouraged by her uncle, a draftsman, she was given the opportunity to begin an apprenticeship in motion photography, where she developed a creative eye and attention to detail that has stayed with her throughout her life.

Although life became busy over the years, it wasn’t until Jean retired that she was able to truly dedicate time to her art. Since then, painting has become one of her greatest joys, providing both relaxation and a strong sense of wellbeing.

Inspired by renowned artists such as Jack Vettriano, Claude Monet and Renoir, Jean enjoys creating her own interpretations of their work, bringing her own unique style to each piece. While she has a love for oil painting, she later discovered acrylics, which she finds more practical while still allowing her creativity to flourish.

Jean’s passion for art has also been shared with her family. She has created beautiful and imaginative murals for her grandchildren, filling their spaces with colour and creativity and passing on her love of art to the next generation.

She also enjoys visiting art exhibitions, where she continues to find inspiration and appreciation for a wide range of artistic styles and techniques.

A Special Make-A-Wish Event in Fairfield As part of her Make-A-Wish experience, Jean will be hosting her very own exhibition at Fairfield Manor Care Home in Fairfield, bringing together residents, families, and members of the local community for a heartwarming celebration of art.

Wellbeing at Fairfield Manor Care Home in Fairfield said: "We’re delighted to invite the Fairfield community to join us for what will be a memorable and uplifting evening."
