Mareena has devoted over 21 years to Westgate House Care Centre, becoming a cherished and trusted figure at the home. She brings warmth, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to every resident she supports. At Westgate House, Mareena is truly a cornerstone, with her compassion, experience, and leadership helping to make the home a place of comfort, dignity, and high-quality care every day.

Building a Strong Nursing Foundation

Mareena began her nursing journey in 1991 at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai, India, where she gained foundational clinical experience across a wide range of acute care settings. These formative years strengthened her clinical expertise and instilled a deep commitment to compassionate, person-centred care

She then moved to Saudi Arabia, where she spent seven years as an In-Charge Nurse in the Operating Theatre under the Ministry of Health. During this time, Mareena developed advanced surgical and perioperative care skills while leading teams to maintain the highest standards of patient safety. Her experience there further strengthened her leadership and mentoring abilities.

Joining Westgate House and Growing with the Home

In 2004, Mareena relocated to the UK, completing her adaptation programme and obtaining her NMC registration. After a year at Western House Hospital, she joined Westgate House Care Centre, beginning a long and rewarding journey with the home. Over the years, she has held various roles, including Unit Manager, and currently serves as Senior Registered General Nurse, where her clinical guidance and leadership continue to make a lasting impact.

Passion for Compassionate Care

Mareena is widely admired for her clinical expertise, but equally for the warmth and reassurance she offers to residents, families, and colleagues. She has a particular passion for palliative care, end-of-life care, and wound management, ensuring that every resident feels heard, supported, and cared for with dignity and respect. Her approach reflects the person-centred philosophy that Westgate House Care Centre is known for.
