FAIRVIEW HOUSE MAKES RESIDENT’S DREAM COME TRUE

Resident, Betsy Mcfarlane, at Fairview House had always spoken about the time she used to go to the gym and and reminisced about those days when she felt good after her visits. She said she would love to see what it’s like now so staff at the home made her wish a reality proving the old adage, it’s never too late.

Betsy has lived at Fairview House since February 2026 and is beloved by staff and residents alike. Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making her dream come true, as they knew how much it meant to her, and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on Betsy’s face when her dream was realised.

Staff first found out about Betsy’s dream during last month’s residents meeting and, ever since then, they have been dedicated to helping her achieve it. Betsy was accompanied by our staff Harsha and Kara who took her to Snap Fitness in Aberdeen. She went over the equipment, some she knew and had used, like the treadmill, and some she didn’t know and wanted to learn more about. We were thankful to the fitness trainer who was there that happily gave her information for each piece of equipment.

Betsy was thrilled with the experience, her face lighting up with the biggest smile as she said, “Thank you for taking me back.”

It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team here in making our residents’ dreams come true. It was wonderful to see how happy Betsy was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well.”
