A resident from Four Acres Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a special morning out in the local community after attending a classic car show in Redditch town centre.
The trip, which took place on 17 May, saw Lifestyle team member Kayleigh accompany resident Lionel to the event, where they spent the morning walking around and admiring a range of classic cars and vintage vehicles.
The outing was specially organised after Kayleigh discovered the event was taking place and recognised it as a perfect opportunity for Lionel, who has a keen interest in old cars and buses.
The visit proved especially meaningful as Lionel does not usually take part in day trips, making the experience an important opportunity for social connection, confidence building and community engagement.
Resident Lionel said: “I really enjoyed today. It was a nice change to get out for the morning.”
The atmosphere throughout the event was upbeat and enjoyable, with Lionel enthusiastically discussing the classic vehicles and sharing his knowledge and memories.
One of the standout moments of the day was seeing Lionel so happy and animated while exploring the show and interacting with others.
Four Acres continues to support residents with personalised experiences that reflect their interests, helping to promote wellbeing, independence and meaningful community connections.
