The residents of Keymer Hall Care Home in Burgess Hill have done something rather special. Working with Clare and Archie from Riverside Flowers in Lewes, they spent a morning choosing every stem, shade and texture of a brand new bouquet, now available to order online and named in their honour: The Keymer Hall Bouquet.
The bouquet features restful tones of peach, ivory and green, with lisianthus, carnations, bloom and spray chrysanthemums, roses and complementary foliage. The colour palette was chosen to reflect Keymer Hall’s signature hues of olive, cotton and copper, and, according to Riverside Flowers, the residents had very clear ideas.
“We were delighted to be invited to Keymer Hall and spent a wonderful morning with the residents as we put our heads together to design the bouquet,” said Clare from Riverside Flowers. “Choosing from a selection of styles, colours and flowers, we came up with this lovely collection of toning peach, ivory and greens. A wonderful group effort.”
The bouquet is now listed on the Riverside Flowers website and available for delivery across Sussex, with four price points to suit different budgets, from £35 to £75 with a vase. Residents and their families benefit from an exclusive discount code, and delivery to Keymer Hall is free.
The bouquet will also form part of the welcome gift for every new long-stay resident arriving at Keymer Hall, a personal touch designed to make the transition into the home feel warm and familiar from day one.
The collaboration is part of a wider ongoing partnership between Keymer Hall and Riverside Flowers, which will also include regular floral arranging workshops for residents, run in partnership with the home’s Head of Lifestyle and Wellbeing. The sessions are designed to encourage creativity, support fine motor skills, and provide meaningful social engagement.
For Keymer Hall, part of the award-winning Boutique Care Homes group, the partnership reflects its belief that care should be about life in its fullest sense, not just clinical support. The home’s Life Enrichment Programme is built around six principles: Contribute, Grow, Reflect, Feel, Move and Connect. The Keymer Hall Bouquet touches on all of them.
“Creative sessions like this are at the heart of what we do at Keymer Hall,” said Helen Lewis, Head of Lifestyle and Wellbeing at Keymer Hall. “When residents have something genuinely meaningful to contribute, it shows. The partnership with Riverside Flowers has given our residents real ownership over something beautiful, and that sense of pride has been wonderful to witness.”
The home’s own words capture it simply: “The Keymer Hall Bouquet was lovingly designed by the residents of Keymer Hall Care Home in Burgess Hill. Working alongside Riverside Flowers, our residents chose every stem, shade and texture to create something that reflects the warmth, character and beauty of life at Keymer Hall. We hope it brings as much joy to you as it did to them.”
The bouquet is available to order now at www.riversideflowerslewes.co.uk. Please note that flower varieties may occasionally vary to ensure the freshest locally available blooms are used. One day’s advance notice is required for orders.
