Badminton Place Care Home in Patchway is delighted to be celebrating Care Home Open Week 2026 with a warm invitation to residents, relatives, friends and the wider local community to come in, take part and experience life at the home.

Care Home Open Week is an important opportunity for care homes across the country to open their doors, build stronger community connections and help people better understand the warmth, variety and support that modern care home living can offer.

At Badminton Place, the week is being marked with a programme of welcoming activities designed to bring people together, spark conversation and showcase the home’s vibrant community spirit.

The week begins on Monday 15th June with an afternoon of live piano music from Travis, accompanied by afternoon tea and cake. Guests are invited to join residents and the team from 2pm for a relaxed and uplifting afternoon of music, refreshments and friendly conversation.

On Wednesday 17th June, Badminton Place will host a morning with something to suit different interests. From 10:30am, the home will welcome guests to its Veterans Coffee Morning, offering a relaxed space for veterans, families and friends to come together, share stories and enjoy good company. Alongside this, the popular Knit and Natter Coffee Morning will also take place, giving visitors the chance to enjoy a creative, sociable and welcoming start to the day.

Thursday 18th June will highlight the home’s dementia-friendly approach, with a visit from the Dementia Friendly Barber. A small number of complimentary spaces are being offered to members of the local community who may benefit from a calm and supportive barber experience in the home’s dedicated barber shop.

Also on Thursday, Badminton Place will be showing a dementia-friendly screening of the England game in its cinema at 10:30am, the day after the live match. The screening has been planned to offer all the fun, atmosphere and camaraderie of the football in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The week will finish with a Father’s Day celebration on Sunday 21st June. Visitors are invited to pop in and collect a homemade chocolate treat box for their dad, grandad or special father figure, while enjoying the warm welcome that Badminton Place is known for.

The team at Badminton Place hopes that Care Home Open Week will encourage more people to get to know their local care home before they ever need one. Whether someone is considering care options for the future, supporting a loved one, or simply wants to see what life inside the home is really like, the doors at Badminton Place are open and the kettle is always on.

There will be plenty more happening throughout the week, with additional activities, moments and updates being shared on the Badminton Place Facebook page.
