Everyone I dealt with was welcoming and ensured my comfort.
I and my neighbour were treated with respect - not to mention quite a few laughs
The home was perfectly presented and cosy & exceptionally clean. Lynch was exceptional.

My mother has been a resident of Badminton Place for nearly 4 years. The quality of the care she is receiving is excellent. Beyond excellent!! Her needs are high (she's on the high dependency floor) and demanding but the carers administer their care with sensitivity, kindness, compassion and good dollop
of humour.
The building is excellent and very well designed. The food is 5 stars. Although my mother doesn't take part in activities, the energy put into keeping residents entertained is superb.
In the early days, one criticism would have been poor administration but this has improved noticeably since Kay took over that area.
Thank you to all the staff for doing such a great job.

My wife has been in Badminton Place 10 weeks & during this time she has had excellent care. Alas during her stay she has become weaker, she can no longer stand & requires to be lifted in & out of her chair, her bed & to the loo. This has required more care from the staff which they have fulfilled to
our satisfaction.
A bottle of scent in a box that I brought in & put in drawer by the bed a week or so ago has disappeared.
Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Please accept my sincere apologies for any distress this has caused. We understand how important personal belongings are. Following my conversation with your daughter, our Home Manager will be looking into this further and will follow up with you directly.Thank you again for your feedback, it helps us to continuously improve the service we provide to our residents and their families.

My father moved into Badminton Place on 6th November 2024. The facilities are first class and the hospitality and acceptance that he has received from all members of staff has been second to none. On 30th Jan 2025, he celebrated his 103rd birthday and again all members of staff provided him with a birthday
party to remember, for which he and our family are extremely grateful. We as a family are so pleased that he is comfortable and well cared for in this super establishment, and once again I cannot thank all the staff enough for their support and understanding in helping Dad adjust to his new environment.

Exceptional from start to finish!
Requested an assessment and was moved in within three days.
The whole team pulled out all the stops to make it happen. Care plan in place, registered at doctors etc., all done. All staff, without exception, are helpful and kind, could not do enough. One particular
staff member even came to work early, to ensure all clothes were labeled and put away. I have no doubt, I have the best care home for my cousin and the look of joy on her face when she arrived confirmed that. Thank you all so much.
Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you so much for your wonderful review and thoughtful words. It truly means so much to us to know that your cousin's move into our home was a smooth and positive experience. We understand how important this transition is for families, and we are so pleased that we could help make it as seamless and reassuring as possible. Our team genuinely cares about every resident, and hearing that their kindness and dedication made a difference to you and your cousin is incredibly touching. I will make sure to share your lovely comments with everyone, especially our staff member who went the extra mile to ensure everything was just right. Most of all, knowing that your cousin's face lit up with joy when she arrived was the best reward we could ask for. We feel privileged to be part of her journey and will continue to do everything we can to make her feel safe, happy, and at home. If there's ever anything more we can do for you both, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Lovely place but that's about it. Unbelievable amount of neglect towards the patients that family and friends have witnessed and brought to the staff's attention, which most just ignored. Sadly told my mum had passed away from a heart attack but now have find out she had choked to death (ongoing enquiry).
At
least 10 managers have left since my mums care started and the few good staff they've had have all left. Don't be fooled by the looks of the home. The care is disgusting and boarding on inhumane.
Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceI want to start by expressing my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your mother. I cannot begin to imagine how difficult this has been for you and your family. Please know that we are deeply sorry for the pain and distress you have experienced.
We are fully committed to understanding what has happened and addressing the issues you have brought to our attention. As you are aware, there is an ongoing investigation/enquiry involving our Home Manager and Operations Director to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding your mother's care. We are working diligently to ensure that all concerns are taken seriously and that the investigation/enquiry is both thorough and transparent.
While we acknowledge there have been some staff changes in the past, our current team is very experienced, stable, passionate, and fully aligned in their commitment to the well-being of all who live here. We continue to be committed to making meaningful changes to ensure every resident receives the care, dignity, and respect they deserve.
At this time, I'm unable to comment further but if there is anything more you would like to share, please do not hesitate to contact our Operations Director or our Home Manager with whom you have been meeting. Your voice is important to us, and we are here to listen and support you during this difficult time.

I visit my friend, who sadly lives with dementia. My friend appears to be happy and contented. The home is very lovely, caring and attentive nursing home, nothing is too much trouble. There has been some disruption with management and staff change recently and sometimes it feels that there is not enough
staff on duty to help. This has worried me and impacted on my expectations of my friend being looked after and heightened my anxiety of the unknown however I can truly say that, whilst still a little nervous and apprehensive, I have seen lots of new faces and long-standing staff throughout the home. (Not where they are usually as staff have been moved around). Everyone is always busy but staff and the new management always manage to find the time to chat with me, even if it feels like a quick hello. It is refreshing and reassuring to see the manager out and about chatting to residents and visitors and hugging staff! The home is starting to feel homely and relaxed. Thank you.
Reply from Philip McAllister, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We're deeply touched by your kind words and are delighted to hear that your friend appears happy and content in our care. It's our utmost priority to create a warm, homely environment and we're glad this has been reflected in your visits. We are especially pleased that you find our team caring, attentive and always ready to help, despite the busy atmosphere. We truly believe that every interaction counts and it's wonderful to know that our new management, along with our dedicated staff, is making time to connect with both residents and visitors, even during a quick chat or a warm greeting. The small moments often contribute the most to fostering that sense of community and reassurance. Thank you again for your trust and ongoing support.

My husband spent two weeks in Badminton Place receiving respite care. It is fair to say he would prefer to be at home but he came home saying his experience was good. The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The food was excellent and the care given was good, very good in some cases. I was impressed
by the management's help in setting up the two-week care, especially providing a recliner chair to make his visit possible. The staff are all welcoming and helpful and I am very grateful to them for looking after him, and me so well.

I required respite after an operation. Marketing was excellent however, it did not follow through. All the staff were caring and professional. Badmington Place is rated 5 stars, I unfortunately do not feel this is warranted. On my first night, I found my emergency button didn't work, stains on the carpet,
general cleanliness of rooms and lifts was poor. Food and especially management are very hit and miss, (too many chiefs). Three stars!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.537) out of 10 for Badminton Place is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.562 for Badminton Place is calculated as follows: ( (174 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 235 Ratings = 4.562
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Badminton Place is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 registered maximum number of service users is 14.6, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Mark

Mark Stuart

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2024

With an exceptional culinary career spanning some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, Mark Stuart brings both expertise and heartfelt passion to his role as Head Chef at Badminton Place.

Mark began his journey at the renowned Garrick Club in Covent Garden, training at Westminster College before progressing to celebrated establishments including The Goring Hotel, the House of Commons, and Voyager Wine Estate in Australia.

One of the most distinguished chapters of his career saw him working as Sous Chef at Buckingham Palace, where he contributed to a number of historic occasions, including the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, the American Presidential State Visit, the Olympic Games celebrations, and the Diamond Jubilee. During this time, he prepared meals for Her Majesty The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and international guests, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Today, Mark brings that same level of care, precision and creativity to Badminton Place. While he once thrived in the fast-paced world of fine dining, he now finds true fulfilment in creating enjoyable and meaningful dining experiences for residents.

Initially uncertain about working in the care sector, Mark’s perspective changed after working as a private chef, where he saw first-hand the powerful impact that nutritious, well-prepared food can have on wellbeing. He is passionate about using seasonal ingredients, creating comforting yet refined dishes, and ensuring every meal supports both enjoyment and health.

Mark takes particular pride in working closely with his kitchen team to create special dining experiences and events, as well as the everyday moments that matter most, such as helping residents rediscover their appetite and enjoyment of food. With additional insight from his wife, an NHS dietitian, he continues to develop menus that are both nourishing and delicious.

For Mark, the greatest reward is simple: seeing smiles in the dining room and knowing his food brings comfort, joy and a sense of home to every resident.
