My mother's first few weeks at Badminton Place have been fantastic. She has been settled in brilliantly by the staff and included in activities and had her hair and nails looked after. The staff have been great, caring and understanding. I have already recommended the facility to friends.

Myself/family and friends have been very impressed with the care and attention given to Dad. There have been a few issues, which once mentioned to management, were resolved. All the staff are friendly and make everyone feel welcome. Importantly, Dad is happy, enjoying the food and banter with the staff.
The home is beautifully decorated, and it seems that everything has been catered for. Have recommended Badminton Place to several people already.

this care home is a lovely place for my mum to spend her final days. The patio doors from her room to the garden is a lovely addition. Her room is beautifully designed and appears more like a five star hotel than a care home. Mum is able to socialise as much as she is able and enjoys the pianist. The
staff are wonderful but could do with more. Could do better by providing Mum hot toast and tea at breakfast time. The shower drainage is poor and needs maintenance.
We are so pleased we moved Mum here as it's all about quality of life. Mum loved being able to have her hair done.
Reply from Sarah Jacka, Client Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you for your review, we are delighted that your mother is enjoying her stay at Badminton Place. She has settled extremely well and it is lovely for us to see her dining with the other residents and making new friends. We are ensuring that your mother is having her hot toast and tea at breakfast time and the drainage in the shower room is being rectified.

As a family, we are extremely pleased with Badminton Place. All the staff have been wonderful, providing Mum with exceptional care and all with a "nothing is too much trouble" attitude. Staff also look after visiting family members, and both my sister and I are always greeted with a friendly face from
reception right through to Mum's room - everyone we pass will say "hello" - it's a stimulating, caring and relaxing environment - more hotel than a care home!
Reply from Sarah Jacka, Client Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceDear Helen, thank you for sharing your review of Badminton Place recently. We are delighted that your mother has settled so well at our home. To see her enjoying the facilities and in the garden at different times during the day with the occasional glass of wine is wonderful to see. Badminton Place is truly outstanding. The staff are brilliant, really attentive to the personality and needs of my mother. The decor and feel are more like a five-star hotel than a care home, though everything is adapted to be comfortable for the residents. Dementia is an awful illness, but residents
really get to make the most of life at Badminton Place. I'm so glad we found it after looking at a lot of places. Just fantastic.

The decor and facilities are excellent; it's like walking into a five-star hotel. The housekeeping is very good, everywhere looks spotlessly clean. Mum is happy there, and it's great to see that she's joining in on the activities on offer. Her care is exemplary. The staff go the extra mile to make her
room very homely. Mum is sad that some of the permanent staff have left since she's been there. She looks well and cared for.

Both my parents went to Badminton Place for Respite Care. The staff are all friendly, helpful and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. Any special food requests are met, which was brilliant for my Dad as he loves his chips and the Chef kindly cooked them for him whenever he asked. The facilities
are excellent, hair salon, cinema, bar and bistro to name just a few. The furnishings and decor are very tasteful and the rooms attractive. The staff are superb and arrange activities and outings.
As soon as we went for a visit to have a look at Badminton Place we knew they would be happy here and well looked after, and they were. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for short-term or long-term care, and in fact, I have already done so to a number of people with relatives in need of care.

Dad has been a resident at Badminton Place for just over a month, having moved from another care home.
We are so happy that we made the decision to move to Badminton Place! There are multiple activities on offer every day, and Dad has the encouragement to leave his room and join in. He seems a lot
more engaged and stimulated.
Badminton Place bills itself as a "luxury" care home. I'm pleased to say it lives up to its marketing. A lot of services which might be extra at some homes are included, and the home has excellent facilities for the residents to use and enjoy. Dad has reported that the food and care are excellent.
As it is a newly-built and opened home, it is still in the process of attracting new residents. We are looking forward to more residents moving in, so that the home would be even livelier and there will be even more social interaction for Dad.

I have just moved my Aunt of 101 years to Badminton Place. She is beginning to suffer from Alzheimer's disease as well as being very frail and requiring nursing care. The staff have been massively helpful and caring. They collected her (as well as her lift assist recliner chair) and settled her into
her room and are taking excellent care of her while she is in the initial two week quarantine period. As you might imagine quarantine is a difficult time for her. I am looking forward to seeing her next week when she will have had a chance to meet some of the residents.
This is my initial impression of this home, but they really have gone above and beyond their remit to ensure my Aunt is settled and comfortable. (This is why I have given an excellent report in all areas.)
A big thank you from me for making this difficult move an easy one.

I would highly recommend Badminton Place care home. The members of staff went out of their way to make my husband’s short stay as comfortable as possible, even during the difficult time of Covid restrictions. As a stroke survivor, he much appreciated their enabling approach which helped him on the road
to regaining his independence in a very safe environment This also included organising a physiotherapist who was able to take full advantage of the well-equipped gymnasium. My husband also appreciated the delicious meals he was able to have in the stylish bistro which also greatly helped his recovery.

I cannot express enough how pleased we are with the care and thought that my mother and father have been treated with during their stay at Badminton Place.
They are in the middle of a respite stay at the home and are loving it so much that they are booking another stay for later in the year.
Every
aspect of their physical and mental state have been cared for and that extends to my care as well.
The food and facilities are second to none and the same can be said of the staff, both care and administrative.
I would highly recommend the home to anyone looking for a placement for either themselves or a relative.

My mother is at Badminton Place for respite care, she went to view before, and was very happy with what she saw, telling us every day that she was looking forward to going in for her respite.
We have had constant feed back from Badminton Place, keeping us updated with her progress and interaction
with staff and other residents at Badminton Place.
We have had phone calls to Mum and have noticed a big change in the tone. She is very lifted in spirit and seems to have joined a new lease of life only after a few days at Badminton Place.
She is a happy lady and has a lot of good things to say about Badminton Place and all the staff.

After having to make the hard decision to place my dad in a care home, I visited Badminton Care home. From the first step into the building, it felt like the right place. The staff were all extremely friendly and put myself and my dad at ease. Everything that could be done to make the move easy was
done from picking up personal items and setting up the room to ensuring my dad settled in. The home and grounds are beautiful and relaxing and the facilities are fabulous.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.575)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.575) out of 10 for Badminton Place is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.575 for Badminton Place is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 247 Ratings = 4.575
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Badminton Place is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 registered maximum number of service users is 14.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Mark

Mark Stuart

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2024

With an exceptional culinary career spanning some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, Mark Stuart brings both expertise and heartfelt passion to his role as Head Chef at Badminton Place.

Mark began his journey at the renowned Garrick Club in Covent Garden, training at Westminster College before progressing to celebrated establishments including The Goring Hotel, the House of Commons, and Voyager Wine Estate in Australia.

One of the most distinguished chapters of his career saw him working as Sous Chef at Buckingham Palace, where he contributed to a number of historic occasions, including the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, the American Presidential State Visit, the Olympic Games celebrations, and the Diamond Jubilee. During this time, he prepared meals for Her Majesty The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and international guests, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Today, Mark brings that same level of care, precision and creativity to Badminton Place. While he once thrived in the fast-paced world of fine dining, he now finds true fulfilment in creating enjoyable and meaningful dining experiences for residents.

Initially uncertain about working in the care sector, Mark’s perspective changed after working as a private chef, where he saw first-hand the powerful impact that nutritious, well-prepared food can have on wellbeing. He is passionate about using seasonal ingredients, creating comforting yet refined dishes, and ensuring every meal supports both enjoyment and health.

Mark takes particular pride in working closely with his kitchen team to create special dining experiences and events, as well as the everyday moments that matter most, such as helping residents rediscover their appetite and enjoyment of food. With additional insight from his wife, an NHS dietitian, he continues to develop menus that are both nourishing and delicious.

For Mark, the greatest reward is simple: seeing smiles in the dining room and knowing his food brings comfort, joy and a sense of home to every resident.

Ana’s impressive career has taken her across a wide range of environments, including bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs, cruise ships and airport lounges. At Badminton Place, Ana is dedicated to creating a welcoming, comfortable and uplifting environment for everyone who walks through the doors. Jade

Jade Joyner

Job Title: Lead Housekeeper Joined: 2020

We’re delighted to introduce Jade, our Lead Housekeeper, who has been part of life at Badminton Place since October 2020.

Jade’s journey into care hasn’t been a traditional one. She originally worked in retail as a visual merchandiser, creating window and shop displays and building a real eye for detail. Although she was encouraged to consider a role in care, she admits she kept putting it off and stayed within what she knew. Eventually, she decided to take the plunge and started working as a hostess in another care home - and very quickly realised it was the right move. Progressing into a senior role, Jade found a genuine passion for care and hasn’t looked back since.

Since joining Badminton Place, Jade has become a familiar and much-loved part of the home. What she enjoys most is the people - both residents and colleagues - and the strong sense of community that runs through everything we do. Having brought her son into the home over the years, she loves that many of our residents have watched him grow up, which adds to that real family feel.

Jade takes huge pride in her work, particularly when it comes to deep cleans and preparing rooms for new residents. She’s someone who really notices the details, and you’ll often find her with a carpet cleaning machine in hand, making sure every space is fresh, welcoming and ready to be called home.

Outside of work, Jade enjoys shopping, heading out for breakfast, going on city breaks with her husband, and spending time with friends - especially if it involves live music. She also loves taking photos and, most importantly, being a mum to Jordan, 18, and Ezra, who is soon to turn 11.

Jade’s honesty, warmth and attention to detail make her a wonderful part of the Badminton Place team, and we’re so pleased to have her with us.

Within his first year, Mohamad was promoted to Senior Care Assistant, and was also recognised as a finalist for Carer of the Year at Berkley Care Group - a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the positive impact he makes every day.
