Mum settled well into her new "home". Nothing too much trouble for the staff. We are really happy with the standard of care, always informed after a doctors visit. She always looks neat and tidy and well-fed, always encouraged to join in activities.

I've been here a month, all the staff are friendly and professional. My room was nicely furnished and is cleaned every day. After my personal lockdown, I found the gym, bistro with bar and hairdressers, meals are nicely cooked with snacks available for the room along with endless jugs of squash. Lastly
if you or a relative need any kind of care, Badminton Place is the place.

Very accomodating in terms of flexibility in booking room depending on release from the hospital and extending stay. Choice of food fitting in with my preferences - excellent quality, taste and presentation. Hospital visits arrange and accompanied. Staff; caring, considerate and cheerful. Decor; exceptionally
high standard, tastefully and soothing. Spac bath is amazing - so... relaxing.

My mother is at Badminton Place for short-term care following an operation. Both she and I are extremely pleased with the facilities, standards of care, and the communication/management. I live abroad so dealt via email with their customer relations, but they were extremely responsive and welcoming
to my mother on her visit. She was immediately taken with the place and keen to go there to recover.
The nurses and other carers have been extremely attentive, which she needed particularly in the first few days after coming from the hospital, while also adjusting to give her space. My mum tells me the facilities and furnishings are very high quality; that the food is exceptional, and also that she is able to order what she needs as she needs it. The facility is obviously seeking (and succeeding!) to provide high-end standards of care and experience. For what it provides I think it is excellent value. My thanks to Badminton and I recommend it to others.
Reply from Simon Page, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThanks, Wahid for your review. It was a pleasure to look after your mother here for two weeks after her surgery. We have called room 17 after her. We were all very fond of her and we hope she visits us soon for an afternoon tea. Best wishes.

Wonderful home with proper care given to my friend. Wide variety of gorgeous food and nice touches like beer and darts, scrabble, concerts.
Some care homes are just a flashy building. This home talks the talk and walks the walk.
Highly recommended.

Overall the care and kindness received is outstanding. My only little gripe is that the hairdresser seems to be absent for over a month, along with the podiatrist. Apart from that, couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
Reply from Simon Page, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you for your review, Debbie. We really enjoy looking after your mother and she is a fabulous lady. Living in California and having to move my dad into a nursing home was extremely difficult for me. The Customer Relations Manager at Badminton Place was amazing. He helped me through every step of the way. My dad has been there for over a month now and I feel so relieved that I found a place that cares
for all his needs the way they do. All the staff I have had contact with are outstanding and friendly and really seem to love the residents.

I visited Badminton Place for a visit to one of your residents. Found the place very lovely and welcoming, the decor was very tastefully done. All the staff we encountered were pleasant, very professional and seemed to know the job and all had good customer service.
I have been to other care homes
but would recommend this one and give it 10/10 for customer service.
My friend says they love the gym and all-inclusive dining room, and I thought their room is like that of a 5* hotel, "where do I register for a place" I say each time I visit. I also loved the meal we had, it was superb.
Well done Badminton Place, you have got just the right place here.

We were very anxious about moving my father-in-law into a nursing home. The staff at Badminton Place made the whole process a very positive experience. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they have all been very helpful with and kept a very upbeat atmosphere. The administration lead is awesome,
he kept us very well informed throughout the process, helped with some of the initial video calls and went out of his way to order some special treats and personal items for my father-in-law. We could not be happier with Badminton Place and would definitely recommend it to others.

I can't recommend Badminton Place and staff highly enough.
The care and attention she received were excellent.
My mother went to Badminton Place after being in hospital with a broken foot, she has dementia so at first, she was a little confused, however, the staff looked after her so well her wellbeing
and physical health improved so much.
The nursing staff were always happy to talk to me with any concerns that I may of had nothing was too much trouble.
The care staff are very friendly and respectful of their residents.
A huge thank you to all at Badminton Place.

My Mum is a relatively new resident at Badminton Place. From the moment she arrived there I felt very involved in her care, the contact I have with all the staff has been very reassuring. Quite early on in her stay at Badminton Place, she celebrated her 100th birthday. The day exceeded all our expectations.
Her room was beautifully decorated with bunting and balloons. The loveliest birthday cake was brought into her room with the staff singing to her. It is a day we will always remember and would not have been possible without the help of everyone at Badminton Place. My Mum has complex needs which can be challenging at times but all the staff respond positively with understanding. I am contacted weekly with an update on her care. I feel a great sense of gratitude and relief that Mum is living at Badminton Place.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.575)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.575) out of 10 for Badminton Place is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.575 for Badminton Place is calculated as follows: ( (184 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (7 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 247 Ratings = 4.575
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Badminton Place is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 registered maximum number of service users is 14.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Mark

Mark Stuart

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2024

With an exceptional culinary career spanning some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, Mark Stuart brings both expertise and heartfelt passion to his role as Head Chef at Badminton Place.

Mark began his journey at the renowned Garrick Club in Covent Garden, training at Westminster College before progressing to celebrated establishments including The Goring Hotel, the House of Commons, and Voyager Wine Estate in Australia.

One of the most distinguished chapters of his career saw him working as Sous Chef at Buckingham Palace, where he contributed to a number of historic occasions, including the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, the American Presidential State Visit, the Olympic Games celebrations, and the Diamond Jubilee. During this time, he prepared meals for Her Majesty The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and international guests, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Today, Mark brings that same level of care, precision and creativity to Badminton Place. While he once thrived in the fast-paced world of fine dining, he now finds true fulfilment in creating enjoyable and meaningful dining experiences for residents.

Initially uncertain about working in the care sector, Mark’s perspective changed after working as a private chef, where he saw first-hand the powerful impact that nutritious, well-prepared food can have on wellbeing. He is passionate about using seasonal ingredients, creating comforting yet refined dishes, and ensuring every meal supports both enjoyment and health.

Mark takes particular pride in working closely with his kitchen team to create special dining experiences and events, as well as the everyday moments that matter most, such as helping residents rediscover their appetite and enjoyment of food. With additional insight from his wife, an NHS dietitian, he continues to develop menus that are both nourishing and delicious.

For Mark, the greatest reward is simple: seeing smiles in the dining room and knowing his food brings comfort, joy and a sense of home to every resident.

With over 26 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Ana Freitas brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth and genuine passion to her role as Hospitality Manager at Badminton Place.

Ana’s impressive career has taken her across a wide range of environments, including bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs, cruise ships and airport lounges. However, it is within the care sector that she has truly found her calling. As Ana shares, her inspiration comes from a simple but powerful belief: to provide the very best hospitality for residents and to make them feel part of a family.

At Badminton Place, Ana is dedicated to creating a welcoming, comfortable and uplifting environment for everyone who walks through the doors. Jade

Jade Joyner

Job Title: Lead Housekeeper Joined: 2020

We’re delighted to introduce Jade, our Lead Housekeeper, who has been part of life at Badminton Place since October 2020.

Jade’s journey into care hasn’t been a traditional one. She originally worked in retail as a visual merchandiser, creating window and shop displays and building a real eye for detail. Although she was encouraged to consider a role in care, she admits she kept putting it off and stayed within what she knew. Eventually, she decided to take the plunge and started working as a hostess in another care home - and very quickly realised it was the right move. Progressing into a senior role, Jade found a genuine passion for care and hasn’t looked back since.

Since joining Badminton Place, Jade has become a familiar and much-loved part of the home. What she enjoys most is the people - both residents and colleagues - and the strong sense of community that runs through everything we do. Having brought her son into the home over the years, she loves that many of our residents have watched him grow up, which adds to that real family feel.

Jade takes huge pride in her work, particularly when it comes to deep cleans and preparing rooms for new residents. She’s someone who really notices the details, and you’ll often find her with a carpet cleaning machine in hand, making sure every space is fresh, welcoming and ready to be called home.

Outside of work, Jade enjoys shopping, heading out for breakfast, going on city breaks with her husband, and spending time with friends - especially if it involves live music. She also loves taking photos and, most importantly, being a mum to Jordan, 18, and Ezra, who is soon to turn 11.

Jade’s honesty, warmth and attention to detail make her a wonderful part of the Badminton Place team, and we’re so pleased to have her with us.

Originally from Lebanon, Mohamad has been living in the UK since 2022. After relocating, he made the decision to pursue a more meaningful career - one where he could truly make a difference in people’s lives.

Following 14 years in senior managerial roles within the retail sector, Mohamad transitioned into care and quickly discovered a real sense of purpose. What began as a career change soon became a genuine passion, with Mohamad describing his work as something that no longer feels like just a job, but a way of life.

Within his first year, Mohamad was promoted to Senior Care Assistant, and was also recognised as a finalist for Carer of the Year at Berkley Care Group - a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the positive impact he makes every day.

Outside of work, Mohamad enjoys staying active - whether that’s going to the gym, playing football and padel, or coaching an under-10s football team. He also values spending quality time with his family.

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Badminton Place, Mohamad says:
“Honestly, it’s the people. I enjoy talking to residents, making a positive difference in their day and in their lives, and working with a friendly team. Residents and their families often share their appreciation, which really means a lot - it makes the work feel valued and rewarding.”
