I required respite after an operation. Marketing was excellent however, it did not follow through. All the staff were caring and professional. Badmington Place is rated 5 stars, I unfortunately do not feel this is warranted. On my first night, I found my emergency button didn't work, stains on the carpet,
general cleanliness of rooms and lifts was poor. Food and especially management are very hit and miss, (too many chiefs). Three stars!

My close friends have been in care at Badminton Place for the last two years and have thoroughly enjoyed their experience. The attention of care by the staff (including support staff) has been exceptional. The Badminton team is always in contact should there be an issue or a change in living conditions.
I find their proactive approach to my friend's needs a definite asset in an industry where so many others are left unattended and neglected.
This care home, by other standards, sets the bar very high, yes costly but I don't think you can put a price on a loved one's health and care. Keep up the great work.
Reply from Chelsea Bligh, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you so much for taking the time to share your lovely feedback, Marcus, we are honoured to have both of your close friends live with us here at Badminton Place. We are delighted to know you are satisfied with the level of care they are receiving and I will certainly share this feedback with all teams.
Thank you again.

Terrible experience with a high turnover of staff including management and also staff who can be exceptionally rude. At one point I witnessed 4 staff doing a jigsaw together and totally ignoring the residents in their "care". They frequently rush lunchtimes and do not allow the residents time to finish
their lunches independently, preferring to feed them, which I feel does not support their dignity and starts to make them more dependent. My experience on one occasion was that a resident was eating play dough, and on another, my father was left sitting in wet clothing shivering without socks or a jumper - the excuse was, "he must have spilt something". There appears to be a significant problem with theft as several brand new items of clothing have vanished whilst others have been shredded from new in less than 3 months. The dining room floor has not been properly washed and the table legs have food detritus on them. This causes numerous flies in this area which is not sanitary.
Reply from Chelsea Bligh, - at Badminton PlaceThank you for your review. I appreciate you’re in active discussions with with our home Management team and Operations team, who are working with you to address your concerns. We’re working hard to support you and your loved one.

My parents both moved into Badminton Place in October 2023. It was a difficult transition for them both, being a traumatic and sudden change of circumstances. Since their arrival, my mother has commented on several occasions that they both feel very well looked after; the regular staff have got to know
them both well and respond positively to their needs and requests. In particular, my father (who has dementia) has benefited enormously from having a greater interaction with both staff and residents.
Reply from Chelsea Bligh, Customer Relations Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you for taking the time to provide feedback, it is a pleasure to have both your mother and father living with us here at Badminton Place. They both have such warm characters and it's been lovely to watch them settle into their surroundings with support from one another and team members. Your feedback will be shared with the team and thank you again.

Following my own personal experience I would not recommend anyone to leave their loved ones in this facility, four managers in the space of just over a year! Appalling service for residents, extremely high turnover of staff and many agency staff.
Reply from Chelsea Bligh, Customer Relationships Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you for taking the time to review our home. You will appreciate, I'm unable to comment on individual cases. We have tried to reach out to you personally prior to this review, attempting contact on the phone and email.
Transparency is key and it is important for me to share some information with you:
- Our manager is the 3rd manager here at the home - the home opened with a commissioning manager (experienced in setting up and opening homes) and it is very common for these managers to move on once the home is established. Each manager has enhanced the home and developed the team positively.
- We are recruiting for care roles and use agency to cover sickness or late holiday.
Our residents' wellbeing is at the heart of all we do, and again I always welcome and encourage feedback that will enhance a resident's experience with us. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further given we're unable to discuss with you directly. Our manager would be available at a time that suits you.

A beautiful facility that is sadly let down by insufficient staffing and a lack of coordination with an ever-changing stream of agency staff and the loss of key people. The basic daily care especially personal hygiene has been insufficient over 7 months despite excellent senior carers attempting to
hold things together.
Reply from Chelsea Bligh, Customer Relationships Manager at Badminton PlaceThank you for taking the time to review the home.

I appreciate your concerns regarding staffing, the home is now fully recruited for care roles and use agency to cover sickness or last-minute holiday. We have a great relationship with our new agency which means the agency colleagues feel very much part of our home team and this allows for great continuity of care. Residents and families are commenting on these relationships with positivity. Our care team are dedicated to making a difference and work hard to build relationships with every resident to ensure they feel supported, cared for and very much at home.

As you will have experienced, when concerns are raised, we work in partnership with families to understand the concern and put measures in place to rectify these and meet regularly to ensure progress is being shared.

From when we were first shown around, the care taken to help my father to have all his needs met, making sure the room was arranged right, and trying different foods to help with his eating problems. Dad's health has improved under the care of the home. This care home has totally changed my view of
care homes, it is so good.

My mother was in Badminton Pace for 15 months till she passed away. The place is amazing - such a lovely environment. The services that are provided at the cost make it a good value for money. The private dining is a great idea for families and friends to visit - made my mum and her family feel at home
with great food and drinks included. Can't recommend enough. The head carer is amazing and so caring.

One of the most difficult things to do is to put a loved one into a care home. When Mum moved to Badminton Place after previously being at another care home for 8 months, it felt daunting having to go through it again. But everything from the first telephone conversation to Mum moving and settling in
has been nothing but positive. The place is wonderful, every member of staff is friendly, helpful and caring and Mum is flourishing and happy. There are lots of activities and there is a great atmosphere. As a family, we have peace of mind Mum is being well cared for. Every care home should be like Badminton Place.

The wonderful uplifting atmosphere is apparent as soon as you enter. Staff are warm and friendly with a ready smile. Nothing is too much trouble and individual needs are catered for.
The public area, the bistro has the feel of a smart cocktail bar with chairs arranged in small groups to accommodate

Mark

Mark Stuart

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2024

With an exceptional culinary career spanning some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens, Mark Stuart brings both expertise and heartfelt passion to his role as Head Chef at Badminton Place.

Mark began his journey at the renowned Garrick Club in Covent Garden, training at Westminster College before progressing to celebrated establishments including The Goring Hotel, the House of Commons, and Voyager Wine Estate in Australia.

One of the most distinguished chapters of his career saw him working as Sous Chef at Buckingham Palace, where he contributed to a number of historic occasions, including the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, the American Presidential State Visit, the Olympic Games celebrations, and the Diamond Jubilee. During this time, he prepared meals for Her Majesty The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and international guests, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Today, Mark brings that same level of care, precision and creativity to Badminton Place. While he once thrived in the fast-paced world of fine dining, he now finds true fulfilment in creating enjoyable and meaningful dining experiences for residents.

Initially uncertain about working in the care sector, Mark’s perspective changed after working as a private chef, where he saw first-hand the powerful impact that nutritious, well-prepared food can have on wellbeing. He is passionate about using seasonal ingredients, creating comforting yet refined dishes, and ensuring every meal supports both enjoyment and health.

Mark takes particular pride in working closely with his kitchen team to create special dining experiences and events, as well as the everyday moments that matter most, such as helping residents rediscover their appetite and enjoyment of food. With additional insight from his wife, an NHS dietitian, he continues to develop menus that are both nourishing and delicious.

For Mark, the greatest reward is simple: seeing smiles in the dining room and knowing his food brings comfort, joy and a sense of home to every resident.

Jade

Jade Joyner

Job Title: Lead Housekeeper Joined: 2020

We’re delighted to introduce Jade, our Lead Housekeeper, who has been part of life at Badminton Place since October 2020.

Jade’s journey into care hasn’t been a traditional one. She originally worked in retail as a visual merchandiser, creating window and shop displays and building a real eye for detail. Although she was encouraged to consider a role in care, she admits she kept putting it off and stayed within what she knew. Eventually, she decided to take the plunge and started working as a hostess in another care home - and very quickly realised it was the right move. Progressing into a senior role, Jade found a genuine passion for care and hasn’t looked back since.

Since joining Badminton Place, Jade has become a familiar and much-loved part of the home. What she enjoys most is the people - both residents and colleagues - and the strong sense of community that runs through everything we do. Having brought her son into the home over the years, she loves that many of our residents have watched him grow up, which adds to that real family feel.

Jade takes huge pride in her work, particularly when it comes to deep cleans and preparing rooms for new residents. She’s someone who really notices the details, and you’ll often find her with a carpet cleaning machine in hand, making sure every space is fresh, welcoming and ready to be called home.

Outside of work, Jade enjoys shopping, heading out for breakfast, going on city breaks with her husband, and spending time with friends - especially if it involves live music. She also loves taking photos and, most importantly, being a mum to Jordan, 18, and Ezra, who is soon to turn 11.

Jade’s honesty, warmth and attention to detail make her a wonderful part of the Badminton Place team, and we’re so pleased to have her with us.

Originally from Lebanon, Mohamad has been living in the UK since 2022. After relocating, he made the decision to pursue a more meaningful career - one where he could truly make a difference in people’s lives.

Following 14 years in senior managerial roles within the retail sector, Mohamad transitioned into care and quickly discovered a real sense of purpose. What began as a career change soon became a genuine passion, with Mohamad describing his work as something that no longer feels like just a job, but a way of life.

Within his first year, Mohamad was promoted to Senior Care Assistant, and was also recognised as a finalist for Carer of the Year at Berkley Care Group - a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the positive impact he makes every day.

Outside of work, Mohamad enjoys staying active - whether that’s going to the gym, playing football and padel, or coaching an under-10s football team. He also values spending quality time with his family.
