Recipient: Peartree Care Home
Date: Friday 18 Dec 2020
There were celebrations at Peartree Care Home this week as they were awarded 12 years of platinum status by the Gold Standards Framework.
The National Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Centre in End of Life Care is the national training and coordinating centre for all GSF programmes, enabling generalist frontline staff to provide a gold standard of care for people nearing the end of life.
The GSF is awarded in stages, with platinum being the highest and requires care homes to follow a rigorous process to achieve it. First, they must complete a GSFCH training programme over nine months, then implement this at the home successfully. The final stage is an accreditation process called 'going for gold' - care homes that complete this successfully are awarded a beacon status.
If care homes continue to demonstrate sustained excellent practice, they can be considered for platinum status.
We’re proud to say Peartree Care Home in London has sustained their platinum status in each accreditation and this year, celebrated 12 years of achieving this consecutively.
