Overview

The Review Score of 9.4 (maximum of 10) for Peartree Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 11 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Peartree Care Centre in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.636 for Peartree Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 132 Ratings = 4.636

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.733 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Peartree Care Centre is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 15 positive Reviews (75 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 11 Reviews ÷ 15 Target = 0.733

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

9.4 Peartree Care Centre has a Review Score of 9.4 (9.369) from 11 Reviews

My husband has been in this home for about 6 months. He has settled in really quickly and he has put weight on. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.

My sisters and I are happy with how the staff cared for my late mother and maintained constant communication with us. This gave us such comfort and reassurance particularly after the stress and panic of mum living alone. I especially appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the homely atmosphere they provided. The fact that a member of staff took the time to attend mum's funeral and the memorial service are testaments to how much they understand and care about their work. Thank you Peartree!

My father has been staying at Pear Tree Nursing Home where the genuine kindness and gentleness of the staff have been outstanding. I have been able to spend nights with my father and the staff have been so accommodating and helpful that I know my father, now in the last stage of his life, will be looked after with dignity, respect and most of all patience and understanding.
Thank you to the entire care team and management for your professionalism.

I highly recommend Peartree Care Centre for all the wonderful care shown to my mother during her 10-year stay. All the staff are committed and carry out their (sometimes very difficult) duty with kindness, professionalism and a smile. The range of activities they have the option to take part in is vast and varied. My mother loved participating in the ballet and came alive and animated holding a Geko and Spider. Well done to all at Peartree.

My friend who I was Power of Attorney for had no close relatives living locally so she relied on friends to care for her. This proved difficult to do at home so I managed to get her into Peartree after a long stay in hospital. Peartree's staff were absolutely wonderful and cared for her really well until she died in her lovely room in the home. I cannot thank them enough for making her last days so peaceful. I have also found the memorial service very uplifting and it is a lovely idea.

After months of rigorous research, we settled upon Peartree. We can honestly say that it was one of the best choices we made for our mother. Peartree staff are caring, consistent and respectful. They certainly engage with each resident as an individual. I'll give one example, I had taken mum off for a brief outing to the High Street up the road. As we sat in the car a Peartree member of staff spotted us and came over to chat - her focus was my mother even outside the care home. She was so evidently joyful that mother was getting fresh air. It left a lasting impression.

My family and I are generally very happy with Peartree nursing home. The staff are lovely, especially the management who are very much on top of things and very professional. My mother is happy and safe and comfortable, which is all we had hoped for in a nursing home, which we initially had not wanted for my mother, but we are now very much comforted by her care.

My mother has been in the care home since February 2017. The care she receives is outstanding. The staff I could not fault in any way so kind and very caring. My mum is the happiest she has been in years. Her health is monitored and her dementia is under control. She is well looked after, always kept clean and very well fed. It's restored my faith in people as I could not do this without the support and love of the staff. Thank you for a great year and giving me more time with my mum.
