My mother was transferred to Peartree after her care home was closed down. I couldn’t be happier with the move. The staff and the care home premises are second to none. The home is clean, light and airy and the staff are caring and incredibly helpful. Mum seems to have settled in well in such a short time.

Reply from Aditee Naik, Home Manager at Excelcare Peartree Care Home

Thank you for your kind feedback, Erica, it is an absolute pleasure working with you for mum. She is so lovely, very caring and loving towards us as well.

I visit my Aunt on a weekly basis and travel form Yorkshire to meet her. She looks happy, always well kept. The staff are kind, not just to my Aunt but also to me. She has been the best I have seen in the last two months since moving to Peartree, in comparison to the last two years when she was receiving care at home. Thank you, Peartree, especially 2nd floor. Love you guys.

My mum was at Peartree for a respite stay for two weeks. I initially had reservations about leaving my mum in a respite /care home for the first time, but I can say all my worries and myths on care homes have now changed for the better.
Mum had a wonderful time during her two weeks, she became more confident in walking around. She loved the involvement with all the other residents. Each time someone came to visit Mum and brought her to her room to spend time with her, she just wanted to go back to the communal room with her peers.
Mum eats well and enjoyed meal times in the group. Her room was spacious and clean, she even had her own TV. Staff were very caring and helpful.

If we need to use the respite service again. I would not hesitate on sending Mum back to Peartree Care Home.

My mother was in Peartree for over two years and they were the best two years she could have had, sadly she died in August. However, the care she had was outstanding. The staff was amazing especially on floor 2. My mother loved it in there and she was so well looked after with so much love as well. For me, I feel sad my mum and myself never had more time as they have become family to me. This care home is outstanding. The end of mums life she was cared for so so well, my thanks to you all.

Peartree tries to make sure that the residents feel as comfortable as they would do in their own home by allowing them to be surrounded by their own belongings in their rooms if they so wish.
They try to ensure that the residents keep up with activities they enjoyed doing before they came into care. As well as indoor activities, some residents that are able, are taken to the seaside, museums and various outings of their interest.
It's good to know that your loved ones can spend time surrounded by other people in the lounge and also if you wanted to spend some one to one time together you can do so freely, whether it's in the garden, their room, tea room or the relaxing rooms that are available.

It is hard, however, for the carers sometimes to spend a lot of one to one time sitting with individual residents so the care home makes sure that each resident has a special day of their own so they can be pampered and be made a fuss of.

My Mother has been at Peartree for some years now and suffers from Dementia - the staff are very nice and welcome our visits at any time. There is a good atmosphere and the staff respectful and open to questions.

The rooms are clean and airy and we were encouraged to bring things like pictures, photo's, small pieces of furniture to help Mum feel at home.

Thank you Peartree.

My husband came to Peartree for end of life care following a diagnosis in June 2018 of pancreatic cancer. It was a very difficult and stressful time but Peartree made him so welcome and safe and truly made what turned out to be his last month of life, something I can fondly remember. I cannot thank you enough for your support and for bringing some light and hope into that very difficult time.

Although my mother has only been at the care home for a couple of months, we have experienced a professional and sympathetic approach to her condition.

The building is bright and clean and the staff are efficient and friendly and seem to care for the residents. The residents appear well fed and as a family, we are at ease with Mum being in a safe and caring environment.

My friend was taken into Peartree Care Home 3 weeks ago. She is bedridden and needs full-time care. The staff are very good looking at after her needs. She has a lovely room.

I also lost a dear friend in December 2017, we went to visit 3 times a week for 10 months. The staff were marvellous in this time. She went to Buckingham Palace but after this, she was too poorly to go on any other outings. She loved the Christmas party. Thanks to all the staff at Peartree Care Home.

I was recommended Peartree by the hospice where my mother-in-law was being cared for. I came to look and was really impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness and overall look and facilities. I accepted the room on my first look. I cannot fault the care and overall the home is perfect (I have looked at many others).

My sisters and I are happy with how the staff cared for my late mother and maintained constant communication with us. This gave us such comfort and reassurance particularly after the stress and panic of mum living alone. I especially appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the homely atmosphere they provided. The fact that a member of staff took the time to attend mum's funeral and the memorial service are testaments to how much they understand and care about their work. Thank you Peartree!

I highly recommend Peartree Care Centre for all the wonderful care shown to my mother during her 10-year stay. All the staff are committed and carry out their (sometimes very difficult) duty with kindness, professionalism and a smile. The range of activities they have the option to take part in is vast and varied. My mother loved participating in the ballet and came alive and animated holding a Geko and Spider. Well done to all at Peartree.
