My mother has been living at Peartree since August and is doing very well there. She is treated with great courtesy, the staff are highly professional, and I feel it’s very easy to communicate with everyone there. Mum’s room is smart, modern-looking and very bright. It was such a difficult decision
to have to place my mother into a care home environment, but it has been a huge weight off my mind, and I know she is being cared for kindly, knowledgeably and professionally, all at the same time. The manager and staff are great. I do very much recommend this home!
Reply from Aditee Naik, Home Manager at Peartree Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words; we absolutely enjoy mum's company as well. She keeps us engaged in stories of her love for theatre and time as a headmistress!

Peartree Care Home is very good and to be recommended on numerous levels - I shall list just a few:
Accommodation - communal areas and individual rooms (en-suite) are spacious, clean, bright and kept in excellent decorative order.
The main staff manager is exceptional. She has an open-door policy
where staff, residents and relatives can effectively speak to her at any time and raise or resolve any issues. She goes out of her way to know everyone personally by name and endorses a friendly, inclusive atmosphere.
Most staff are very friendly. Permanent staff turn-over is fairly low are there are usually a few staff on each shift who know a resident well and can engage with their needs.
Food is balanced and frequent with healthy snacks like fruit. Prior to Covid-19 visitors were encouraged to eat with their relations.
Prior to Covid-19 - Social Events for residents were numerous, this is picking up again.
As in most Homes - Clothing has to be labelled well otherwise it will be lost in the laundry.

Mum moved into Peartree during the lockdown. The staff were very understanding. Mum took a while to settle but the staff were fantastic. I have always been kept up to date with regular telephone calls. During the lockdown, we were able to facetime and garden visits were allowed. The staff at Peartree
have been fantastic and mum has settled now and calls Peartree her home. I am now visiting more which is great.

My mother was a resident at Peartree Care Home for 2 years, she had her own room with ensuite, she was able to have personal possessions such as ornaments, photos even small pieces of furniture anything really that made her room familiar. My mother had her hair done by the resident hairdresser every
Friday and enjoyed plentiful visits from her famil. She was kept well dressed and clean and tidy, if she were unwell the GP was notified as was I immediately. My mother sadly passed away on the 6th May 2021, and although this was an extremely difficult time and Covid restrictions were in place myself and my family were given compassionate visits and were shown great kindness and understanding, Peartree is a very special place and I'm so glad that Mum got to spend her last couple of years in such a kind and professional environment.

The care home was outstanding in all aspects. They were also well versed with the ongoing protocols pertaining to the pandemic and still were efficient in making the process of visits to the comfort of the inmates as one would be in their own home. They surely are one of the sweetest care homes I've
seen in quite some time.

Staff and residents are so friendly and caring that it feels like a big family which is amazing to have, especially during these difficult times of Covid-19. From the very beginning, when my Mother first entered Peartree, at the age of 80, I have felt that I have gained, rather than lost a family member. It has been difficult in the last year, owing to the Covid-19 Emergency, but information, news and personal contact has been professionally and considerately
managed, always with the resident family member as the primary driver. I am comfortable that she is in safe hands.
Reply from Aditee Naik, Home Manager at Peartree Care HomeThank you for your kind words. The team are always re-assured by your support. It is a pleasure working jointly with you for mum.

Under difficult Covid conditions, Peartree Care Home looked after my friend with care and humanity. He was comfortable with the support he received, and it helped a lot that staff took an interest in him as an individual.
It was much appreciated that staff took the trouble to keep us informed of any
changes in his condition, and were as helpful and as generous as regulations allowed with visits.
He was allowed to slip away gently and with dignity.

My mother was transferred to Peartree after her care home was closed down. I couldn’t be happier with the move. The staff and the care home premises are second to none. The home is clean, light and airy and the staff are caring and incredibly helpful. Mum seems to have settled in well in such a short
time.

I visit my Aunt on a weekly basis and travel form Yorkshire to meet her. She looks happy, always well kept. The staff are kind, not just to my Aunt but also to me. She has been the best I have seen in the last two months since moving to Peartree, in comparison to the last two years when she was receiving
care at home. Thank you, Peartree, especially 2nd floor. Love you guys.

My mum was at Peartree for a respite stay for two weeks. I initially had reservations about leaving my mum in a respite /care home for the first time, but I can say all my worries and myths on care homes have now changed for the better.
Mum had a wonderful time during her two weeks, she became more
confident in walking around. She loved the involvement with all the other residents. Each time someone came to visit Mum and brought her to her room to spend time with her, she just wanted to go back to the communal room with her peers.
Mum eats well and enjoyed meal times in the group. Her room was spacious and clean, she even had her own TV. Staff were very caring and helpful.
If we need to use the respite service again. I would not hesitate on sending Mum back to Peartree Care Home.

My mother was in Peartree for over two years and they were the best two years she could have had, sadly she died in August. However, the care she had was outstanding. The staff was amazing especially on floor 2. My mother loved it in there and she was so well looked after with so much love as well.
For me, I feel sad my mum and myself never had more time as they have become family to me. This care home is outstanding. The end of mums life she was cared for so so well, my thanks to you all.

Peartree tries to make sure that the residents feel as comfortable as they would do in their own home by allowing them to be surrounded by their own belongings in their rooms if they so wish.
They try to ensure that the residents keep up with activities they enjoyed doing before they came into care.
As well as indoor activities, some residents that are able, are taken to the seaside, museums and various outings of their interest.
It's good to know that your loved ones can spend time surrounded by other people in the lounge and also if you wanted to spend some one to one time together you can do so freely, whether it's in the garden, their room, tea room or the relaxing rooms that are available.
It is hard, however, for the carers sometimes to spend a lot of one to one time sitting with individual residents so the care home makes sure that each resident has a special day of their own so they can be pampered and be made a fuss of.

My Mother has been at Peartree for some years now and suffers from Dementia - the staff are very nice and welcome our visits at any time. There is a good atmosphere and the staff respectful and open to questions.
The rooms are clean and airy and we were encouraged to bring things like pictures, photo's,
small pieces of furniture to help Mum feel at home.

Thank you Peartree.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.953)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.953) out of 10 for Peartree Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.953 for Peartree Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (549 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 575 Ratings = 4.953
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Peartree Care Home is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
