Mandy Bugler, Home Manager at Signature House Care Home in Dorchester, which is part of Amica Care Trust, has been given the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) by community nursing charity, The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI).
The title indicates a commitment to high standards of patient care, learning and leadership. Nurses who hold the title benefit from developmental workshops, bursaries, networking opportunities, and a shared professional identity.
Dr Crystal Oldman CBE, Chief Executive of the QNI said:
“On behalf of the QNI, I would like to congratulate Mandy Bugler and welcome her as a Queen’s Nurse. Queen’s Nurses serve as leaders and role models in community nursing, delivering high-quality health care across the country. The application and assessment process to become a Queen’s Nurse is rigorous and requires clear commitment to improving care for patients, their families and carers. We look forward to working with Mandy and all other new Queen’s Nurses who have received the title this year.”
Mandy, who has worked for Amica Care Trust at Signature House for over 6 years, told us “I am delighted to receive this most prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse. I will certainly be putting my experience to good use at Signature House where we care for people who require specialist nursing care, and for people living with dementia. I am passionate about all of our residents being safe, making them happy and enabling them to lead fully enriched lives whilst always receiving the highest quality of care.”
Keren Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer at Amica Care Trust said “I couldn’t be prouder of Mandy, and she certainly deserves this title of Queen’s Nurse. Mandy puts so much energy into leading her team of dedicated nurses and carers to ensure residents living in Signature House receive person-centred care in a way which is empowering, respectful, dignified and compassionate”.
